I met my husband in Germany at RAF Rheindahlen and got married in 1969 when we moved to Clapham. After a couple of years we moved to Raynes Park near Wimbledon. Alan became an auditor working for a family run company and he stayed there until he retired. After having my two children Debbie and Phill I worked in school meals whilst they were young and then I became a manager of a 24 hour garage in Battersea. We moved to Kent in 1988 and I carried on working in Batersea for another year but the journey on the M25 got too much for me 6 days a week so I went to work for Lloyds bank in their insurance branch and I stayed there until 2003. We then moved to Spain and stayed there for six years. By that time Alan's health had deteriorated so we came back to England and went to live in Bearsted. I now live with my daughter and Isabel my granddaughter and we have lived here for 11 years.
Known as Bobby Holland during my service.
