I seved at RAF Eastleigh as a Poiice Dog Handler from 1959 until 1961 .I carried arms most of the time as there was still considered an emergency situation still prevailed ,I think we who served during that period should receive the Kenya medal ,I already have the Arabian Peninsular GSM having served in Aden prior to Kenya. Jim Dalton. I Served at R.A.F. Eastleigh 1958 to 1960 but did not get a medal. I feel this is an injustice as the emergency was still in force

Still no medal it will soon be to late for many veterans who served in Kenya as we are all getting past our prime, its about time that the powers that make these decisions wake up and honour those that deserve recognition for what they did for this country during that period .

I served with 1st Bn. Royal Northumberland Fusiliers from1953 to 1955 during the Mau Mau uprising. At different times covering areas in the Aberdares, around the slopes of Mt. Kenya, Ol Joro Orok, Thomsons Falls, Nanyuki, Naro Maru, Nyeri, and IS Duties in Nairobi. I received my African General Service Medal with Bar (KENYA) later when I returned to duty in the UK.I am not certain of the date of the actual ending of the emergency but believe it was number of years after my service there
