Counting down to Goodbye.
On the 20th of this month ie November 20th, 2020 my membership expires.
If anyone has any comments to make please add them on this thread. There may be one or two who will be glad to see me go but I believe some will be sad or at least miss me.
I will miss the site and most of the people who are still around and make the effort to post. There are some who are members yet sit back and never enter into discussions or do so on very rare occasions. The ones I won't miss, actually I can think of only one. I don't wish to depart leaving a sour taste in anyone's mind so no names, no pack drill.
I do not like the present site layout in common with most others who have stuck on in spite of the revamps and in spite of the lack of respect for our feelings. Admin has been asked several times to give us a semblance of what we once had but all promises have been ignored so I am no longer prepared to stay on and pay for something which is free on many other sites and here I speak of membership.
I am not trying to make myself something which I am not but I might as well have my say before I go. Feel free to respond or not although I would like to read any comments anyone might have.
My biggest regret is that the site has not had the interest for me of late because the active membership has fallen so much since the early days. We had discussions, not arguments but genuine exchanges of opinions, threads which were interesting because of their subject matter. Space travel, deep sea diving, poles apart of course and humorous threads on countless subjects, Many threads lasted for weeks or months with perhaps as many as forty or fifty joining in. Intelligent debate not mindless arguing, poetry exchanges between people who submitted humorous poems between themselves in response to poems from their friends. Maybe not the best poetry but they had rhyme and reason and were well worth reading and all the better for their brevity.
I think I have said enough at present, perhaps too much in some people's opinion. However, I shall soon be gone.
Here endeth the lesson!
Hope you will find the following information useful.
