Around 32000 Brits are estimated to be resident in Germany, a very large proportion of them being ex BAOR & RAF Germany veterans who married German women. Many have lived here for years and have children and grandchildren. After 4 years of Brexit negotiations, the situation regarding permanent residence in the EU for UK Nationals is still not 100% clear. A large number have applied for dual British/German nationality, others are reluctant to take this step. Perhaps some of you out there would like to express your thoughts on this?

Hi Taff, nice to hear from you, my old Mum said exactly the same thing about the Fräuleins ! She was wrong, my Elvira is a real darling and takes good care of me. She is even a dab hand at making Cornish Pasties ! S.W. France must be a great location. Cheers to you both.
Served eight years of my 31 years RAF service at RAF Guetersloh. Remained in Germany, still living in Gutersloh, for a further sixteen years employed on the German economy for which Frau Merkel pays me a pro rata States Retirement Pension. My two sons live in Germany, both have stated that if push comes to shove, they'd apply for dual nationality, they've both lived there for many years. Both married German girls, I married a Yorky, then a Jock and live in rural Norfolk.
