“ More Tax due to Forces Pension ”
When you live abroad your income tax rate is being increased due to having to declare your forces pension.
Although the pension itself is not taxed, your income is taxed at a higher rate. This is due to an aggreement between the UK gov. and other countries. in my case Germany.

Ray. I have lived in France 5 years. Do not get a Forces pension as could only do 12 years. Did 31 years in Police , so get a pension for that. My Police pension I do not pay UK tax on it, if I had a Forces pension I think the French do not tax their retired Forces on their pensions . Hope this is some good.

It all depends on whether there a reciprocal tax agreement between the UK and the country you are living in.
I live in New Zealand and there is an agreement.
The paymaster cocks up every other year or so, if the pension amount changes, and starts paying tax again.
You have to fill out an overseas tax form and claim it back if that is the case. Although occasionally I have just received a letter followed by a cheque a few weeks later out of the blue.
