Although the pension itself is not taxed, your income is taxed at a higher rate. This is due to an aggreement between the UK gov. and other countries. in my case Germany.
I live in New Zealand and there is an agreement.
The paymaster cocks up every other year or so, if the pension amount changes, and starts paying tax again.
You have to fill out an overseas tax form and claim it back if that is the case. Although occasionally I have just received a letter followed by a cheque a few weeks later out of the blue.
