An open letter to Admin
The thing i noticed most was that it took about three quarters of the banner up. Admin don't seem to screen who joins the site either. Any loon could be gathering info with an axe to grind involving ex service men and women and we inadvertently supply it. I often think that Admin are naive. Rant over.
You’ve highlighted a concern that admin seemed to have overlooked. What is more concerning though is that anyone can view all the profiles on this site without even have to log in!
This is a grave security error which could compromise many posters on this site and should be removed ASAP!!
The details that some members give provides more than enough info to enable anyone with malicious intent to pin point their location and could make it easier for them to attempt identity theft.......the profile dates of where one served gives a good clue to their age even!
Admin.......can you please give this security problem your urgent attention?!
Sorry if I am trying to teach anyone to suck eggs but:
I have reported my posting and I won’t hold my breath for a reply but I do hope someone listens and takes action!
You have hit the nail on the head. The mighty dollar.
Email address and password are kept secure at all times.
We simply don't have the resources to 'monitor registrants backgrounds' as you suggest.
As I put in my other post, please don;t add anything to your forward facing profile you wouldn't want anyone else to know here, or on any other site.
I understand where you are coming from but although many forums allow non members to read the posts they, in the main, do not allow any access to members profiles without them logging in.
I appreciate the work you must have to put in to continue with this forum and consequently must accept your views despite the concerns I still have.
