LOST FRIENDS FOR A GREAT FATHER-IN-LAW
I was wondering if you can help as I am at a dead end.
My father-in-law was a SENIOR AIR CRAFTSMAN working in the Station Workshops as a welder around the 1950's (1958ish) for a good few years at RAF DUXFORD.
His name is Mr Ronald Poll service number 4179702 - nickname Geordie. He never moved far from RAF Duxford and now lives in Sawston, Cambridgeshire.
He is going in for a major heart operation end of June 2019 and asked me if I could find two of his friends (one who was his best man at his wedding) who he would like to meet up with. They are :
ERIC DIBLEY and MICK HURLEY both were also at RAF DUXFORD at the same time and worked in the RAF DUXFORD Workshops.
Any assistance in trying to trace both/either one before Ron’ goes in for his op would be fantastic and I would arrange a surprise visit for him.
I have tried RAFA / RAF Associations / National Archives (waiting to hear) but thought I may have a bit of luck on here.
It would be great as he is worried about the heart op and wants to see a few people should the worst happen during the operation. Hopefully it will all be good and he can walk his daughter down the aisle for our wedding next year!
Thank You, Parmjit.
