Tactical Communications Wing Pre-during-post Op Corporate aka the Falklands Crisis... HELLO!
I Everything about that outfit is wrong.not just the uniform color but if his rank was corporal then it would have two chevrons on the sleeve, and finally the Forage cap was not been worn officially after 1950.
Without trying to belittle a fellow Service man i would say that Uniform is a joke.
Come on David Please explain
Not Nit picking Steve but he might just enquire.
I have following this thread with interest and I may be away off beam but this is my take on it. I think that he is genuine and that the photo of him in his uniform is a bad photo. He was only an LAC at the time hence that rank badge on his arm. Forage caps were reintroduced as an option and I wore one as a Snco at Marham. Steve said that he couldn't have been at Biggin Hill . The officer and aircrew selection centre only moved to Cranwell in the early 90's. If you notice also that his exit date preceded him working at Mod Air. I would think that he probably worked there as a civvy. This is only my take on it.
