JUST TO INFORM FELLOW MEMBERS THAT MY FIRST BOOK "ATTACK AT DAWN" WAS PUBLISHED IN 2015 FOLLOWED BY THE SEQUEL "DOOMED DESTROYER" PUBLISHED LAST MONTH. BOTH BOOKS ARE THE REAL STORY BY THE SAILORS WHO WERE THERE AFTER NINE YEARS OF RESEARCH. THE TWO BATTLES OCCURED SIX MONTHS INTO WW2. WHEN FIVE 'H' CLASS DESTROYERS LED BY HMS HARDY WITH FLOTILLA COMMANDER CAPTAIN WARBURTON-LEE WENT INTO NARVIK WITH LITTLE INTELLIGENCE AS TO WHAT TO EXPECT AND ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE BY RN TORPEDOES. 'HARDY AND 'HUNTER' NEVER CAME HOME. MY FIRST BOOK FOCUSSED ON 'HARDY' CREWMEMBERS EXPERIENCES AND THE SECOND BOOK 'HUNTER'S' CREWMEMBERS EXPERIENCES [111 SAILORS DIED IN THE OLD WATERS OF THE FJORD. THE SECOND BATTLE THREE DAYS FINISHED OF THE NAZIS NAVY ASSULT ON THE SIMPLE LIFSTYLE OF THE NARVIK COMMUNITY. DESCRIBED IN DEPH IN THE SECOND BOOK AND HOW THE 49 'HUNTER' SURVIVORS IMPRISONED BY THE GERMAN ARMY FARED OVER THE FOLLOWING FIVE YEARS HAVING SIGNED A FORM THAT THEY SHOULD NOT TAKE UP ARMS ONCE MORE AGAINST GERMANY OTHERWISE THEY WOULD BE SUBJECT TO THE 'DEATH PENALTY'. THE EPIC BATTLES BECAME LOST IN THE 'MIST OF TIME'. AMAZON / KINDLE OR DIRECT FROM RON SIGNED COPIES. THANKS RON COPE RETD CPO 23 YEARS SERVICE.

My dad was at Narvik and I believe his boat was sunk. I think a lucky bomb went down the funnel from a Stuka bomber and dropped into the engine room. I am not sure which ship it was only vague recollections of what I was told. My dad was rescued and survived the war. He was Lt J.G Clarke (Jack) RNR. If you have and details I would be very interested. Many thanks.
