“ Supporting UNSupporting ground and naval forces with naval aircreft operations ”
and evacuating them to the Royal Naval Hospital in Hong Kong. During this period we carried 13,000 injured men.
Many were category 'Very Seriously Injured' and required intensive surgery in the ship's three operating theatres.

As you can see, it's pretty unusual to be able to identify one from t'other. I'll see if I can dig up a shot that shows what I mean.
I won't call them happy memories but they don't go away.
I shipped out to far east to join H.M.S. Alacrity on H.M.S. Ocean we left
U.K. 6th Sept 1950. first night at sea through the Bay was rough flight deck
out of bounds and at times under water. Feb 1951 was our first trip to Korea.
