Equality in veterans pensions
Forum thread for campaign Equality in veterans pensions
“ <br>Veterans who left service before April 1975 get no pension ”
The other thing that got me when I left the RAF is that employers didn't recognize the skills you aquired in the services.
The Australian Government means test pensions, so I don't receive anything from Australia, just a half pension fro the UK thats another gripe it does not ever go up, not linked to inflation, another thing the UK Government is doing me out of!
So a bit of pension for my time in the RAF would be nice
I did active service in Egypt,2.5 years then another 2.5 in UK,I should get a pension. !?????
Leon Slade. SAC wireless mechanic avionics radio
Leon Slade , I did get the service medals
I think of all those draft dodgers, they carried on with their jobs,
when I was fighting for my country, mind you,I became a Licenced CAA radio/radar enjoined in civy street.Sighning up for 5 yrs was the best move of my life.
Although I only served for 5 years in the 1960's, and during this period I was not on active service at any time.
I wonder if other European, or International Service personnel are treated in the same way.
court of appeal, got thrown out. If enough of us keep talking about it Johhny Mercer might think he can make a name for himself and take our cause up ??

I left October 1975 and was told not entitled to pension as i fell inbetween the minimum 2yr beyond after April 1975 disgraceful
"Those who served for a minimum of 2 years beyond April 1975 are entitled to a preserved pension pro-rata their service on reaching the age of 60,on the same terms as the pre-April 1975 leavers."
I left in 1979 having served for six years and would be interested in finding out if I am entitled to anything.
