“ servd in this campaign 1966-67 ”
I was serving in the RAF on 103MU Akrotiri when the 22 soldiers lost their lives. It was the day after my 23rd birthday. I hope that their unselfish service and bravery will be commemorated in the proper manner.
Yes, I knew Terry. I was his 'opposite number, 3 troop truck driver, 60 Field Sqd. We didn't socialise together, but we got on quite well when we met, during the working day. Lots of banter and friendly rivalry.
I can't remember a lot, after 50yrs.
He was a popular bloke. Sorry Rose, that's all I can remember. Hope it's of some use.
Sorry also for the delay in answering your attempt to contact. I'm in Malaysia at the moment. The internet connection is erratic or nil.
Aden was my first posting as a 17 and half yr. old, serving in the RAOC. Accommodated in Singapore Lines(Banda 188) working at the Ammunition Depot with Crater just over the hill. I served up to the withdrawal.
