Yes Pamela bad time for the brits at the French open. We are getting ready to watch the highlights of Giro d Italia cycle race which starts on Saturday and hope that Simon Yates can do well. I am sure Barney is keeping you busy and amused, good to hear that the ulcer has healed.
JD sorry to hear about Gwneth, hope she heals quickly.
We are still waiting for news on our house move. Apparently searches are taking a lot longer than usual.
The only clue i could give is that who ever submitted this clip had a bird with a yellow beak and the word DODO in a small circle at the beginning. A further clue is that the item on twitter was "The blasted cat"
Be Warned There are some very distressing pictures and reports of extreme cruelty to cats SO try to ignore them until you cursor down to "DODO" and that little horse that had been so badly treated.
House move is still waiting on searches which is very annoying as new house is almost ready, we go and choose kitchen floor and bathroom floor next Tursday.
Barney is 19 weeks old today and probably twice the size he was when he came to me 10 weeks ago. He can manage to get on and off just about everything now. His latest trick is to scamper across the room , take a flying leap and land in my lap!!
Locked out of pub at 10 pm. "penalty shoot out"
I had a lovely day and look forward to having lunch out tomorrow with our son and daughter in law.
My wife yesterday received a message on her computer purporting to be from the Home Office and telling her that she had not paid a number of parking fines relating to driving through roads that were prohibited and if not paid legal action would be taken. Plus they asked for her card details etc.
As we have never driven in London, Bristol or Bath who do have such charges she looked further into this and found on other sites that it is just a blatant scam and that you should not click on or answer in any way. Regards to all J.D.
The next day I went to the loo and lost a massive amount of blood via my one way passage. So, ambulance again but straight into a cubicle. The delay wasn't too bad before a doctor and nurse arrived. The nurse started work with a cannula but after about five minutes I said to the Doc that she was having a hard time with it but he said she was doing well. After another five minutes or so he put one in my left hand which didn't bruise and she gave up. It was still ages before I was found a bed so it was from Friday late on until late on Monday this week before I got home. Now on iron tablets which ought to help a bit. It reminds me of the Tony Hancock sketch when he moans about giving blood 'A pint? That's an armful!' I think I lost a couple of armfuls overall but I'm seemingly okay now. Just a bad attack of diverticulitis but very, very tiring.
Oddly enough I had about twenty nurses and a couple of patients telling me how young I look???????? I felt knackered so I'm not sure who they were looking at! The only complaint I had was the food was - to say the least - variable in quality.
Anyway nice to be back among the living!
I can't remember if I mentioned that I have now been diagnosed with diabetes. Well on Wednesday afternoon I spent about an hour and half with the specialist nurse down at my new Medical Centre. By the end of our time my brain was in overload and I came away with masses of leaflets and information on diets, sugar content of foods etc and appointments for podiatry clinic and eye clinic. The 2 Nursing Sisters I saw were extremely nice, very well informed and couldn't do enough for me. I must say I have been very impressed by this new GP Practice I am now with, They have an amazing range of facilities and take really good care of you.
Barney is 20 weeks old today and continues to be a total joy and delight. He is a real little Mummy's boy and loves his cuddles.
Saturday tomorrow so a nice lie in then a leisurely read of the paper and half an hour spent going through the Weekend Magazine and circling all the TV programmes I want to watch next week.
Almost time for a nice glass of G & T now so, Kim and Vicky, would you like to join me in a tipple? Gin and Tonic water are both on the low/no sugar list..... thank goodness!
Terry, you really have had a rough patch so take good care of yourself.
We had another hold up with the move on Friday, when we had our new boiler installed 2 years ago they failed to register it with gas safe. I rang the company and the man who was in charge at the time has now left and isn't gas safe registered anymore but will send someone out who is this week to sort it. My question was why since we sold in July did the buyers solicitor wait until now to ask the question. I just hope we dont get locked down until after we gave moved.!!!
He is a criminal mastermind though as I said elsewhere. He is very clever at picking pockets and when I am sitting on the sofa he will sneak tissues or (if he's in luck) puppy treats from my cardigan pocket. He's also not averse to a spot of blackmail........ if he can manage to snatch something he shouldn't have such as the TV control or my pen he'll give me the choice of trying to chase him for it (No chance!) or swopping it for a sausage (Not a real one, just a little puppy treat). I'm afraid that I always give in to the blackmail. 'Sausage' is the magic word around here if you want Barney to do anything all you have to do is utter it and he will be there awaiting your command!!
For those of you who find it hard to relax here is Barney demonstrating what it means to be really 'laid back'!......
ps - do you think that 'Mastermind' is ready for him? He would run rings around them !!
