Cyber Family 200
Bye for now.
Kim we have viewing tomorrow as well. I put 1lb on this week but still in target range. Weather here is dreadful again tonight.
Vicky, what good news of another viewing tomorrow, keeping fingers crossed for you - did you look at the bungalow you were interested in? Good to know you are still within target range for your weight. Awful weather is still with us too and a bit further afield I gather - a friend of mine who was driving through Slough High Street reported yesterday that he was just missed being hit by a complete roof being blown off a shop!!
No word yet from Pamela. I'll look up the nursing home she told me she was in if I can find it among old Emails and ring them. I'll keep you in the picture.
Sorry for keeping you all in suspenders. There are a number of reasons why I have been unable to post for a week or two.
Health wise, I have spent the last 7 weeks trying to shake off the most dreadful head cold and my M.E. has been particularly bad so I have been sleeping for England.
Tech wise, firstly the lead on my laptop split in half so I had to borrow the one from the office here in the short periods it was available and then the laptop gave up the ghost completely and has spent the last couple of weeks in the repair shop. Andrew returned it to me this afternoon at a cost of just over £100.! Now I am busy trying to restore all my old favourites.
Flat wise, both Age UK and SSAFA have done a magnificent job. The flat has been decorated, carpeted and completely furnished and the only hold up now seems to be the setting up of my care package whereby someone comes in to me 4 times a day.
Take care, love Kim x
Very quiet on here, hope everyone is ok. How is your move going Pamela?
How many times have you moved house since you got married and got your own place? We have n't had all that many but did have a few close together a couple of times when we had our house brought up to scratch and spent a lot of money on it. We rented a council house both times but did have problems with storage because our place was a big one, Victorian, lots of rooms therefore lots of furniture, tools and so on, and by then there was just the two of us. We were much younger but overall in the house for a total of fifty years. Seems like a lifetime!
However, good luck with your move whenever it happens.
I am dipping in and out of here at the moment because I am having Internet problems. BT have informed me that my router(hub) needs renewing and have now delivered a new one so just waiting to get it installed. Wish I could do it myself but my rotten back wont let me get under the desk !!!
Hope everyone is well.
Do let me know how your house move is progressing, smoothly I hope !!!
Hope everyone is keeping safe and warm.
I am watching the rugby this weekend and hope England play better than last week.
Pamela I watched all the rugby this weekend, the weather was terrible at Murrayfield, good result for England. I see the English women lost at the Fed cup. Have you moved in to your flat yet?
My dear old friend - why so backward in coming forward with that news. Absolutely fantastic and my sincerest wishes to you and your good lady on your wedding anniversary. May we see a picture of the pair of you and maybe you could treat us to telling us her name.
As far as your birthday is concerned my heartiest congratulations on reaching the 'Top of the shop - blind ninety' as the Bingo callers had it. Don;t know if that is still the case because there's a move afoot to subject the traditional calls to satisfy the dear Snowflakes.
All in all it means that you have beaten me to it on both counts. I'll have to wait until September to match your age bracket and mid-June for the anniversary.
At least it proves one thing - there are still a few long stayers still around.
As I drank my drop of wine with my evening meal I raised my glass and toasted you thereby surprising Patricia - hadn't told her beforehand.
I hope both days were full of joy and happiness for you and your Missus.
Ian has decided to sell his boat which has surprised me but he said he is bored with it now. Must admit it has lasted longer than other hobbies.
Vicky, keeping fingers crossed that you will soon be on the move too - looks like another house-warming do in the offing!!!!
Some of the branches are almost like spears because they have split off at an angle and are quite sharply pointed. There are lots of school children passing by daily and mothers wheeling buggies with tots in. If one of these heavier branches landed on a child it could conceivably kill it and it wouldn't do a grown up much good either.
Some were four feet long and about an inch and a half in diameter. One branch was near enough seven feet with a few small twigs growing at the end and curling round slightly. Having got my camera I was stepping between the bin and our car when the long branch slipped and fell in my way. My feet got caught up with it and I did what I believe is called a face-plant into the gravel bed down the side of the drive. I landed with such a smack that I was breathless, dazed and convinced that my face would be streaming blood. Surprisingly it was only slightly marked but my knee was swollen to about three times normal within a few minutes. It is still very painful and I am wondering whether or not to go for an Xray since it keeps cracking like pistol shots.
I am proud of myself because I went back to the drive, took the photos and sent off an Email to our MP - Angela Rayner who has recently been removed from the list of potential Labour Party leadership contenders and included the photos with the Email.
I've had the usual automatic responses so can only wait now for my knee to get better and something to be done about the tree.
Guess which will happen first!
Hope everyone is safe and sound with the awful weather that we are getting. We just had one of our seats blown over. The forest is the wettest I have ever seen it..
Vicky, the weather here continues to be pretty awful too and I have had to have 2 of my gardens fences repaired and another replaced today, lucky I could get someone to come out fairly quickly.
Do stay safe everyone.
Cheers all bye for nowX
Sorry to hear about your accident. I hope that by the time you return to A & E on Friday ,the swelling will have subsided. In a way you were lucky with your 'face plant' as I did one on the landing carpet a couple of years ago and ended up with 2 black eyes and a bloody nose!
