Goodness Terry !! What a magical hearing gadget - do hope it works out well for you, keeping my fingers crossed. Do keep us informed.
Good afternoon everyone, late today as we went out early.
Hugs for Kim Pamela Terry and Colum.
We had a drive through the forest to one if our favourite garden centers. I stocked up on bird seed and sunflower hearts but nothing else.
I am all set for another weekend of rugby. I think Scotland might pull off a win against Ireland.
Terry I wish I could get Ian to get a hearing aid, his hearing is pretty bad and when watching the TV the sound is far too loud.

Hi Vicky - I'm surprised in one way but not altogether because often people just don't realise how bad their hearing is until they try them out. They are NOT perfect but at least most of the time I can communicate with whoever I am talking to which is all the NHS undertakes to do for you. The lady who came on Wednesday said no matter what claims firms make they cannot cure anyone and the most they can do is enhance what you have left. In other words beware of paying thousands when the NHS are probably just as good. I just hope that next Wednesday mine can be rectified or get new ones instead. One is definitely on the blink.
Good afternoon everyone.
Hugs for Kim Pamela Terry and Colum.
A much better day than yesterday which was very wet and wild. A bus in Poole had a tree fall on it but luckily no one was hurt.
I have had a tidy up in the garden today and now I am ready to settle down and watch two games of rugby. Another game tomorrow.
Have a good day, stay warm and take care.

Looks like being a good week for weather, spring is not too far away as we had
3 lots of tadpoles in our pond yesterday.
Another great weekend of rugby, England played very well again.
I think Ian might be going sailing this afternoon, just depends on whether it is too windy.
Have a nice day everyone and take care.

Hello Vicky, just to thank you for my morning hug. At least the weather here has improved a bit, not quite as cold and dry at the moment - can't ask for much more I suppose!! Do hope Ian gets some decent sailing weather.
Take care everyone and stay safe.

I had a nice chat with Margaret last night. She is fine and sends her love. She has been taken up painting again and is going to art classes.
Ian had a good sail yesterday , he wont be going now for the rest of the week as the tides will be all wrong.
Have a good day everyone and take care.

Hi Vicky, thank you for another morning hug. So pleased to hear that Margaret is fine - do you think she is likely to come back on FR again?
Greetings Gentlefolk and hugs for Vicky, Kim, Pamela and Colum. I hope all are well or if waiting for appointments will be getting them very soon and when they do get good results.
I went to Audiology today with my faulty hearing aid and was back out in abotu five minutes with a brand new one for my right ear. I may need to go back because it's doing a bit of whistling but there is some wax which needs shfting so it could be that. Ah well - take care every one - bye for now.

Hi Terry, thank you for my hug. Glad to know you are making some progress with your hearing aids. Does the new one fit inside your ear? - they are always the best.
Do take care everyone and stay safe.

I must get a hearing test Terry. I’m fed up saying eh.
Thank you for all the morning hugs.
Good to hear Margaret is doing well and taken up painting again
Vicky. Ian getting some sailing on.
I haven’t ventured out too much.
It’s soo cold and I didn’t want a repeat of two weeks ago.
I don’t think we will see Margaret on here again Kim. Hope you are well.
Happy Valentine’s Day to you all and to those in Heaven.
Lots of lovely darts and snooker so I’m sorted.
All for now I do go on when I get started. It’s the blarney in me lol.
If I have missed anyone please forgive me. Memory fails me sometimes.
Smurf is on my knee and I hate moving him. Needs must. Sometimes I think he huffs if I push him off my knee.
Take care and stay warm and safe.
God bless you all.
Smurf says goodnight.

Colum we go to Specsavers as well but the appointment I am waiting for is at the hospital for laser treatment and until I have that I cant get new glasses.
We are taking my sister in law Mary out for lunch today as it is her birthday on Sunday. My brother died 4 years ago. The pub we are going to is doing a valentines day lunch but that wont mean much to Ian as he is not a romantic person however menu looks good. We do pass a garden centre on the way so will have a look.

Hi Colum - good to hear from you and glad you are in good shape. I am pretty good, thanks, just looking forward to the warmer weather - we had thick freezing fog here first thing but it has cleared now and at least the sun is shining.
Good morning Vicky, thank you for another hug. Hope you enjoy your lunch with Mary today.

Evening all - Colum if you are having a problem hearing do get a test but I hope you have better luck than me. My ears were damaged physically so there isn't a great deal that can be done for me. I went yesterday to hospital as I said I would be doing and got a new aid for my right ear to replace the faulty one. It beeps constantly so I will have to go back and have been promised that they will replace both aids.
Things are a bit precarious round here at present. Our next door neighbours on one side almost had the wife's car stolen a few weeks back and she had to run out when she saw three men pushing it out of their drive. They tried to claim that it was theirs but she stood her ground and they left. We have had someone or maybe more than one roaming around the gardens about six weeks back and they forced open our old shed. The inside was left in a fair old mess and a bag of tools - mainly spanners - was taken. I found them behind a storage box so either they were too much trouble to carry or they took a look and decided they were not worth taking. In fact they are all old types and nowadays everything is metric. They would only benefit someone renovating old types of cars who needs things like Whitworth, UNF, A/F types etc. To be honest they would have done me a favour cartng them off!
Then yesterday when we got back from getting the new hearing aid and after a lovely meal out we saw the letter box flap hanging loose as we drove in. After some thought we phoned the police who were round very quickly. No doubt because apart from the things I have just mentioned there was a burglary six doors down on the other side of our house just three days ago. I said to the male constable that I couldn't understand why anyone would damage a letter box like that until I thought further. Maybe someone had tried to find a key left up to it on the inside and he said straight away that I was no doubt right as they knew it happened regularly. I just don't think like a criminal!
Had my twelve week jab today and then one more in April before I have a lay off for a year. It's not that they are painful but I have to make sure I don't miss the date and need to make a note on the calendar. At least it looks promising and I must be doing well to be able to leave them off for so long.
All for now my friends - sleep well!

Good morning everyone. Must be foggy as all the ships hooters are going off in the solent.
Morning hugs for Kim Pamela Terry and Colum.
We had a lovely meal with Mary yesterday. She wont be on her own for her birthday as he daughter law is staying for two nights along with her triplet grandchildren who are 9. Her son cant come as he manages a pub.
We shall hopefully get out today in the forest for a good long walk.
Have a good day everyone and take care.

Hi Terry & Colum. At the risk of banging on about me operation, I think it's best to regard hearing aids as the lesser of two evils...Without them you can't hear a darned thing! With 'em there's an almost incessant squealing! Particularly since I had a new set fitted, just before Christmas. As a result, I tend to wear only one at a time, or switch the pesky things off altogether for a bit of peace and quiet! Cheers, Syd.
PS: Sixty-seven years ago last Saturday afternoon (9th Feb.) Herself and I rode off, not into the sunset, more to the north and a bit east, on our honeymoon aboard a fast and furious 500cc BSA. Arhh, but we were young then...and perhaps even more foolish!

Hi Syd, congratulations to you both on your sixty-seven years of wedded bliss !! Hope there are many more.
Good morning everyone.
Morning hugs for Kim Pamela Terry and Colum.
Yesterday was very dull and cloudy, hope today is better as Ian is going sailing. I might get out in the garden and do some tidying up. My camellia bush is full of lovely pink flowers and there are several daffodils in flower. Lots of tadpoles in our small pond so spring is just around the corner.

Hello everyone had trouble logging on. Congratulations Syd and you lady wife. 67 years a milestone. Have a great day.
I haven’t been on for a while. Have a bugger if a cold.
Weather has been awful so I stay in. Senior citizens dinner on Wednesday 20/2 so must be well for that.
Haven’t much to say. Enjoy the walks and Ian the sailing.
Take care.

Hello Vicky, sorry I missed you yesterday, thanks for another hug.
Hi Colum, sorry to hear you have a bad cold, just take care. There are some very nasty ones going around at the moment - have had one myself which keeps flaring up and dying down only to pop up again a couple of days later, difficult to shake it off.
Hope everyone else is OK, keep warm and safe.

Hi everybody - had a stinking cold/infection/flu bug or whatever. i swear this is the last time I ever have a flu jab. Yes, I know, I said it last year but got talked into it again and this has been my worst ever winter. Hardly a day without suffering like billyho and I'm feeling just about knackered.
However, more than enough about me - Syd - many congratulations on reaching your 67th anniversary with your lady and sorry for being so late.
Patricia and I will be joining you in June all being well so there will be at least two FR members having reached their 67th year of marriage with the same partner.
As to hearing aids the new one I got is useless - it gives a beep every few seconds so it is lying aorund somewhere until I get another appointment - phoned in to complain and was told they will replace both if I drop them in but that's no use unless they are properly set.
No more burglaries or attempted ones for the last few days - perhaps the culprits think they have stirred things too much in the area for now and we have had a few patrols by car and PCs on the beat as well. Must have frightened them off.
Off to bed early tonight as I have been for the last few days but to very little effect. So, keep well all and have a hug to take up stairs with you!

Hi Terry - sorry to hear you have been inflicted with this nasty bug. Talking of hearing aids, I must be the only person around who hasn't had any problems with them, just lucky I guess!! Lovely thought of having a hug to take upstairs with me, thank you. do sleep well.
Hello Terry you’re having a time of it. I had the cold and it’s back so
I don’t envy you. Just have to wait it out.
We have the same probs here as well with burglaries and assaults.
Never see a cop or a car patrol on my area after the lamps go
on. I think they’re afraid of the dark.
Hi Kim hope you are well. Hugs are great.
Night night and God bless you all
my wonderful friends.

Morning hugs for Kim Pamela Terry and Colum. Hope everyone gets over their colds soon. I swear by Vicks First Defence spray, always works for us if used st the first sign of a cold.
The thing that is happening round here a lot at the moment is car windows being smashed and also tools being taken. It is a lawless society these days. No consequences for any wrong doing so people get away with it and no respect for anyone or anything these days.
Congratulations to you and Patricia on your upcoming wedding anniversary.
Have a good day everyone and take care.

We with out transport at present. We have an oil leak in the campervan and as it is twenty years old parts are no longer available and a new oil pipe has got to be made. Good job I can do online shopping. I need to go to the library today but can get a bus there and will walk back. The buses only run every hour. Good job there is rugby on at the weekend or I would be going stir crazy.

Just spotted the time of your post Vicky. 07.23 !! Lor lumme! Were you on 'Stand To'? At that hour, I can't accept the onset of day! What with local vandals and a bus service every hour, it all sounds like Piccadilly Circus! You have my sympathy, perhaps being in the sticks has its benefits after all...especially now I can drive again. Walked three miles yesterday, mostly off-tarmac, but still a long way to go.
Hey Colum. Many years ago, I used to attend joint meetings with the area Police Authority. One time they admitted that, occasionally, at night time, the nearest Police car might be thirty-five miles away. Amusing? Yes. Reassuring? Hmmm. Cheers, Syd.

Good morning all and it’s a really beautiful day here might go for a walk to the Ecos centre.
You were up early Vicky. 0723.
Would it not be cheaper to get another second hand car? I’m sure spare parts for yours will be costly. Just a thought. Afternoon of snooker so will forego the walk.
Perhaps later. Good idea to get the bus in and walk back.
Hello Syd we have our fair share of vandalism but thankfully I’m in a good estate and we all look after each other.
Thank you for all the morning hugs.
Hello Kim haven seen you for a day or two. Hope you are well.
Hello Terry thankfully I have gotten rid of the cold. It’s a bugger. I stay away from people who have it as much as possible.
Vicky I don’t mind using Vick. I heard it’s good if rubbed on the soles of the feet. I hate the smell of it though.
No word yet about my scan or surgical appointment. I live in hope.
All for now take care.
If I’ve missed anyone it’s not intentional.
Take care.

Hello Vicky, thank you for my morning hug. Sorry to hear about the problem with your van, just hope it gets sorted quickly.
Colum, sorry to hear that you haven't got your appointments yet, just hope you hear something soon. I am OK thanks, just the cold returning yet again!!
Hi JD - so sorry to hear you have had another couple of seizures, do hope the increased medication helps, I am thinking of you.
Big hugs to you all and to all our lovely family. Take care.

Hi John - just sent you a PM so hope it gets through. Has anyone else had a problem accessing their PMs? I just checked mine and had to log in in spite of already being on site and obviously already logged in. Things do keep happening in very odd ways. Anyway hugs for all and maybe they will be in time for you to take them to bed with you. I always appreciate all those which come my way so thanks to all senders.

Good news on the van, the local garage has been able to fix it, bad news I dont know how much it will cost until this morning. This is a good old fashioned local village garage, he rang us after they were closed to go and pick it up and said pay me in the morning.
Colum we are thinking of selling it but as it is a motor home which we use for holidays we wont be able to afford another one but could have enough to buy a car and a cheap caravan so could still enjoy our holidays.
Syd I am always awake early, get up and make a cup of tea to take back to bed and catch up with the internet before getting up at about 8am. I did enjoy my walk back from the library.

Hi KIm,
Seems like we've had another update/revamp without notification. It would be nice if Admin would let us into the picture - after all we do pay subs. I'll have a go at them but I'm not going to hold my breath. I can't off hand see a reason for the measure because only paying members are allowed to make any changes or so we are told. Just another irritant for us. It would be nice if Admin would finally give us the improved site which they have promised for so long.
For the moment I'll take my leave but will report back on any developments.
Hugs for all to use whenever and wherever you feel like it.

Hello Vicky, thank you for another morning hug. Good to hear you got your van fixed - sending you a hug in case you need one when you get the price (lol).
Hi Colum - do contact Support and tell them that it is causing you a problem - they really are messing us around at the moment. Big hug to you.
I’m absolutely disgusted. Why can’t admin leave things as they are. I was going along nicely. Went to my inbox or tried to and found I had to log in again. A second time what’s that all about.
I considered long and hard whether or not to continue with F/r. I sorry now I did as I would miss you lot.
Is anyone else having problems? Rant over. I expect better treatment.
I can’t read my message in my mail box if I can’t log in.

Hi Steve, I think I was the first one to flag this up to FR but now it seems there are many of us being subjected to these problems, I felt sure I wasn't alone !!! I feel all we can do is to flood Support with our complaints but I wouldn't put money on it producing a satisfactory outcome. FR in their 'wisdom' have fouled things up and not for the first time!!!
I have sent admin a complaint but I can’t get into my mailbox because their reply is going direct to spam. Aargh. This has happened every time. I try to reset my password to no avail.
This is definitely my last year on F/r - it’s not worth the hassle.
Good morning all hope you are in fine fettle as Harry would say. Very cold here and blustery but dry.
Have a great weekend.

I can’t get replies to my complaints because they go direct to spam.
This is as far as I get. This is definitely my last year with them as it’s not worth the hassle. I will cancel my d/d on Monday without fail. Rant over.

Good afternoon everyone, a beautiful day today.
Hugs for Kim,Pamela, Terry and colum.
Kim I find it quite easy to send spam emails to my in box, we are with BT.
I am all set for a weekend of rugby and Ian has gone sailing as it is such a beautiful afternoon.
The bill for the van was very reasonable, it didn't break the ban but it was something we could have done without.
Have a good day everyone and take care.
