Good morning everyone.
Morning hugs for Kim Pamela and Terry.
Kim I phoned the hospital but they said that so many cataracts had been done that they were behind on the check ups however I am near the top of the waiting list. Its annoying because I cant go for new glasses until the check up is done. I maintained my weight at weigh in so all is good.
We are meeting friends for lunch today.
Ian went to post a parcel to Belgium yesterday, Christmas presents to friends of ours but it was a smidgen overweight so would have cost £30!!!! He bought it home and I have taken one of the presents out and we will try again today.
Have a good day everyone and take care.

Hugs to all who feel that they need one.

Hi Vicky, I am late on here today but want to say thankyou for my morning hug. Good news about your weigh-in and just hope you get your eye check-up soon.
Hello Terry - good to hear you are getting all your appointments sorted, Perhaps you should get out your camping gear (lol). I have been in touch with my GP surgery now that I have been told that cannabis oil can be legally prescribed as I would like some to help with my severe back pain as nothing else helps , not even the morphine patches. The answer is NO !! If I can persuade them to find a specialist willing to help then I might get lucky - I have offered to pay but that doesn't seem to make any difference, some prejudice going on here I think !! No matter, I will just soldier on with my own aged bones!!
Goodnight dear friends, hugs to you all and sleep well.

Sorry you cant get any help from the Dr Kim. It has s so draining when you are in constant pain.
Terry I hope all your appointments went well and that Patricia is well.
We had a lovely lunch yesterday with good food.

Good Evening Vicky, thank you for another morning hug. Have had my spirits lifted today when my daughter and grand-daughter took me out for a pub lunch for my birthday. After that they took me shopping for a handbag - they wanted to get me a 'special' one but thought I ought to choose it, so I had a really good day.
In the best tradition of Dixon of Dock Green 'evenin' all!' Vicky I hope you soon get your eye sorted - it can take a while after a cataract op. Kim, back pain is a real pain a bit lower down than the back. I've been suffering a spasmodic back pain for almost two years and it has been so bad that I went to A & E twice where they checked me out for heart problems because it was so bad. The final decision was that they don't know what is causing it and I was told to take paracetamol. One of our practice doctors thinks that it is a pulled muscle but if so it is taking a long time to heal. I don't think it is - it cracks off at times without me even moving. It's probably arthritis so all I can do is to take pain killers. Pity they don't work.
Kim - may I wish you a very Happy Birthday and I hope you always have money to spare in your new handbag.
Lots of love - Terry. X

Hello My Darlings - thank you all for my lovely birthday greetings. I must confess to having had a few drinks today, wine at the pub and G&Ts at home - Steve seems to have been helping me out too !!! Anyway, thank you all again, you have helped lift my spirits too - hugs and kisses to everyone xxx
Terry, sorry to hear you have also been suffering with back pain - the medics generally don't know the cause but in my case they just say, well, yes you did have spinal surgery 7 years ago but it just didn't work, talk about stating the obvious!! Taking paracetamol is simply useless but they have to say something.
Goodnight everyone, keep warm and sleep well.

A very Happy Birthday, Kim. Glad to hear that you had a really lovely day. I will raise a large glass of Gin and Tonic to your health and Daisy sends you a birthday lick and a wag.xxx
Good morning everyone.
Morning hugs for Kim Pamela and Terry.
A very windy wet morning but it is supposed to be brighter later.
I enjoyed a G&T for you yesterday as well Kim.
I got all my cards and parcels posted yesterday, quite surprised that the three parcels were the same postage as they were all different weights and sizes. We have received quite a few cards already so I will get my card holders out today and start filling them up.
Have a good day everyone and take care.

Arise young lady and face the world
Your make up is on and your hair is curled
Today's the day you await each year
Cards from the friends that hold you dear
Wishing you all that words can say
Some from near or far away
Today the Banner we'll unfurl
To celebrate with our Birthday Girl
So open your presents and see who they’re from
To celebrate before today ends
And the toast is “Happy Birthday” Kim

Thank you so much for this Shrubby, very kind of you. The picture is just beautiful. Do join me (and I think a few of the others) for a late party drink this evening. Love Kim xx
Thank you Steve, hope everyone is enjoying a glass or two on me, love Kim xx

Another windy morning. Ian was going sailing but I think the wind will be too strong for him especially when he is coming in to moor up. He wont be able to go for the rest of the week as the tide will be all wrong. I will have to find some jobs for him to do or he will be bored.
I am trying to get some present swapping dates sorted with the rest of the family but it is not easy especially with Mike and Maureen because of all of Maureens hospital appointments.
Have a good day everyone and take care.

Looks like being a nice day but the tide is not right for Ian to go sailing.
Maureen has more problems, she now has to see a skin specialist about a patch on her leg where she had skin cancer a few years back, it is nothing but hospitals for them at present. All a bit worrying.

Hello Vicky - thank you for another morning hug. I am really sorry to hear what Maureen is going through at the moment and I do wish her all the luck in the world.

Kim we are meeting Mike and Maureen on Friday so I will see how she is then but when I spoke to Mike yesterday he said she had spent most of last week in bed.
Nothing much on today as Ian is putting new brake pads on our campervan. Weigh in for me tonight.

Happy Birthday for tomorrow JD.
I spoke to Margaret yesterday , she is ok but not looking forward to Christmas which is understandable as it was this time last year that Phil was so ill.
Ian couldnt do the brake pads yesterday because he didnt have one particular tool that he needed, he must have every tool in his garage but not that one. The van is off to the garage today to get the job done, more expense!!!

Hi Vicky, thanks for another morning hug. I understand only too well how Margaret must be feeling at the moment but I'm sure she knows we are thinking of her.
Hi JD - I know I am not the first to wish you a very Happy Birthday for tomorrow and I'm sure I wont be the last. Just have a great day and I have the drinks ready when you are. Love Kim xx

Yes Kim it will be a hard Christmas for you as well as Margaret, will be thinking of you both.
We are present delivering to my sister in law Mary in Wimborne today before meeting up with Mike and Maureen for lunch tomorrow. Mike has now got a basal cell carcinoma on his ear so has to have it taken off, this year seems to go from bad to worse for them.
The van cost us £60 yesterday instead of nothing if Ian had been able to do the job . Good job I have a small annuity that pays out this month.
Have a good day everyone and take care.

I am wishing a Very Happy Birthday to my very good friend John (JD) Daly. I'm also wishing that his current health problem gets sorted out PDQ so he can keep us entertained and get back driving again. I know he misses it.
Take care JD,
Terry.

We had a good lunch with Mike and Maureen yesterday and I was able to use my Defence Discount card for money off the bill. Maureen looked better than the last time we saw her.
A quiet day today as it is going to be a wet windy day. Have to go to the library to pick up some books. I shall be watching the Strictly final tonight.

Hello Vicky, thank you for another morning hug. Good to know you had a nice lunch with Mike and Maureen and so pleased that Maureen looked better, just hope she makes some good progress. Weather here today has been absolutely awful, cold with wind and rain all day - just hope we don't get any of the white stuff, hate it !!

No names, no pack drill!
Just a swift recap as to my recent fortunes regarding my general state of health. Feeling a lot better, the only thing left after loads of blood tests which have all proved collectively that my thyroid is fine, my liver likewise. blood sugar level okay - no treatment required and a visit to my Urologist on Friday was crowned by the statement that I am doing very well. He even said whenever I like so for the moment I said I'll stay on them to build up the effect a bit more. It's an option I can take whenever I like so I'll probably drop them in the middle of next year. The last thing is a heart scan but feeling the way I do I am not at present concerned. It may not be any better but I don't believe it will be worse.
Love to all, take care,
Terry.

Good morning everyone.

Good health report Terry, pleased to here it, thanks for the hug. How is Patricia doing?
We had a quiet weekend. I enjoyed the Strictly final and was pleased that Kevin and Stacey won.
Start of a new week and more present swapping to do. We are meeting eldest daughter on Thursday but not sure when we are meeting youngest daughter.

Hi Vicky, a little late in the day but thank you for my morning hug. We do seem to be a little thin on the ground at the moment so I am wishing all our Family a very peaceful night. Sleep well everyone, stay warm and safe.
It's all go at present - we've had so much terrible weather I've felt like filming the trees which were thrashing about so much it looked like they might be torn from the ground and some of them are very mature. What it means is that we're now playing catch up - shopping for presents, cards, food and drink - mustn't forget the drink although no one gets plastered these days since everyone has to drive home. I have volunteered to be the chauffeur but apart from the one day parties are the order of the day for most of the family so they are dispersed so far it's not practicable.
As usual my hugs are rather late in the day so sorry but it seems to have become the norm for me. Vicky - thanks for asking about Patricia - unfortunately she is still having a lot of back pain but will she go to see a doctor? It needs dynamite to shift her at times but she will go 'sometime'. I've just done a quick scan of recent posts and noticed that my last post left a few words out so you might be puzzled. It was that the urologist said that if I wanted to leave the injections off for a year I could do so and it was my option. I decided to stay on them for now but may ask for a rest in a few months when I've had more to boost my system. Shows I am doing pretty well!
For now I'll say good night, hope you all have a pleasant night, sweet dreams every one.

Hi Steve - it may surprise you but I am quite familiar with Scottish weather. At ne time I had a job which took me across the border on many occasions and I used to amaze friends and relatives back in Oldham where we used to live by telling them how beautiful the weather had been - sometimes even in December. I've walked down Sauchiehall Street when I could have been in shirt sleeves it was so mild and found when I got home that it had been freezing and piddling down while I'd been away. Today is mild and we took the chance to go to a gastro pub called The Heroes Of Waterloo to have a dinner. Three courses for £9.95 on the set menu and it was packed.
Hugs all round for all - sleep well. Early night for me - appointment in Bolton but thankfully nothing to do with health matters. Just a bit of private business. By for now!

No need to worry about being misunderstood Steve - we've not had snow yet but have seen hailstones, ferocious winds, rain, frost, and the Sky TV keeps going on the blink due to pixilating caused by the weather. plus heat stroke, sunburn and moorland fires - and that was just this morning!
Hello My Darlings - we have had every sort of weather here in Farnborough (except snow!!) over the last few days. Right now it is hammering down with rain as it has been all day. My gutters are all blocked with leaves and overflowing and I must find someone to clear them, ho hum!! I am sending big hugs to everyone and wishing you all a good night's rest.
Greetings Gentlefolk and hugs all round. Kim, I am sorry to read that your gutters are blocked and overflowing and I hope that you soon find a gallant gutter cleaner to remove the foul leaf infestation. However, and this applies to all the regular imbibers of G and Ts who inhabit this thread, in order to alleviate your slight touch of the blues you may all help yourselves to the drink of your choice from the ones displayed below. Enjoy, enjoy - but take care to have a little lining in your tummy first.
Hi Terry, thanks for my hug. I'm sure I will eventually find a gutter cleaner to sort out my problem but probably only for a fee, oh well such is life !!!!! I will certainly help myself to a G&T, thank you, what a delicious looking display, and I will definitely enjoy - just hope I'm not being forced to drink alone, so come and join me all you lovely folk. Cheers !!!!!
