Hello Syd,
Sorry to hear 'bout your fall, hope you are not too bruised, you should take more water with it.
bad news about T.C. leaving our little band of brothers and sisters but he now's his own mind best. at least it will leave the girls on site for us.
Regards Syd to you and Mrs. Syd. (you should let me know her name some time) Call in for a Kipper Tie if you are ever bombing up to Brummigum

Sorry to hear about your fall, Syd. I hope that the bruises heal soon and your aches all go away. x
I used to have a tin mug but my mess tins never saw daylight from issue to handing them back in. Sorry to read about your fall Syd. Keep on with the deep heat massage - that'll cure anything.
Hi JD - just wondering if you got my message on your Email address? Any problems please let me know.
Well folks. Thank you all for your good wishes, you're most kind. Guess I was very lucky! Those pesky steps are steep, uneven and nearly 200ft down and the same up the other side. We came down without any trouble, although constantly meeting runners from the opposite direction. Where I fell was perhaps, half way up the other side, we'd stopped to let more runners through and I simply lost my balance and did a back flip, landing on left shoulder, my nut and whatever came next before being grabbed by friends! Finished the remaining six miles, albeit a bit knackered, but managed a six miles plus walk the next day. Shoulder still aches a bit, but getting easier every day. Cheers, Syd.
Hi Syd - seems I missed your original message about your mishap and just hope you are now getting back to full strength, love Kim x

You learn something new every day. I gave my trousers to my wife to wash and she asked "Have you left any money in the pockets "? (That's a laugh in it's self) I only found out a few years ago that we had gone decimal and there were no more pounds shillings and pence. Even more amazing it seems you can now pay for for food petrol etc. with a piece of plastic and if you want some of this money there is a machine in the wall and putting in this card it gives you money, It is unbelievable. I am shocked and think i will write to our Prime Minister, Winston Churchill and ask him if we can go back to the good old days where a man after handing over his pay packet (unopened) to 'er indoors" and she would let you have a few "Bob"
John,
I hope you and your Gwyneth are both well as I make ready to pack my kitbag to leave FR. Unfortunately Patricia is not at all well just now. She has had a bit of trouble with her bowels and goes next Monday for an endoscopy. She had an examination last Thursday when the consultant said he didn't want to do one because she is now very frail but changed his mind after the check up. I think from what she said is that he did a biopsy so to have her back so soon is worrying. I have your email address so I can let you know how it turns out.
For now, all the best to you both.
Please pass on my best to all my old friends.
Terry.

Dear Terry,
I hope that all goes well for Patricia, and of course you, old friend. It must be very worrying for you.

Well, that's another Crimbo over. I still didn't get the toy train I wanted or the Meccano set. Anybody want 37 pairs of assorted socks?
All the best in the New Year to all my old mates on FR.

Thank you Kim, I hope it's a good year for you too. John xxx.
I thought that we were now in the New Year !! When I switch my Television on, it's still showing last year's programmes.
We will have to wait until next year to find out what's going on this year.
