BOB'S DAILY DIARY IE THROUGH MATURIE YEARS
Crossbar Football after visiting the Dogs, which i won for a change, then over the road to Skate Park, Grandsons brilliant on his Scooter, i decided against having a go for two reasons Number One it,s a small fast type and Number Two he,s sure to tell his Granma and i,d get endless Earache, but i told him that on Friday i,d bring my own Scooter.Caught up with Ironing in Afternoon and managed a bit of exercise , another enjoyable Day.
Another enjoyable Day with Youngest Grandson, at the Library in afternoon a Young Lady told three Stories and played Music in between while reading funny verse, Grandson was sat at front with all the other Young Uns, then there were three rows of Chairs occupied by all the Mums and Grannies while i was at back of room sitting comfortable on a Sofa.Had to laugh when the Young Lady stated that the Whale was the largest Fish in the Sea, a voice piped out NOT AS BIG AS A KILLER WHALE I SAW WITH MY GRANDAD. Hmm will have to avoid him watching those Films with me, one thing that gets upsetting when it,s his Home time from ours HE WANTS TO STAY, does it every Thursday, got a feeling Son thinks we give him all his own way hence the Tantrum hmmm maybe he,s right BUT HE HIMSELF DID ALRIGHT WHEN HE WAS A YOUNG UN.
Lovely Sunny Day here in Cleckie hence enjoying my Walkabout and Chats with Locals, out of curiousity i checked out our place of stay at Chichester, wodering if Daughter had put a comment on, i was surprised to find the Owner had put on a comment about us WAS HARD TO BELIEVE THEY,D BEEN HERE, EVERYTHING SPOTLESS, THE FAMILY IS WELCOME BACK ANYTIME, was nice to read, just shows what my Wife and Daughters are like ie they treated it like there own Homes, example the Carpets throughout were very light Coloured , hence whenever we entered through door it was SHOES OFF . After meals it was same as at Home , Dishes washed and everything wiped down , on the Morning of leaving all bins emptied into Bins outside and clean Bags put in, WHEN THEY STATE HOME FROM HOME i now know exactly what they mean.
Full House Yesterday hence kept busy, even Great Grandson here who seemed to take a liking to me ie followed me everywhere, lovely Day in Cleckie, went down to Skate Park with Grandson after Dog Visit, he was having a sleep over at ours as his Parents were out Celebrating there Anniversary, while he took over my Computer i was watching a Film that his Dad had got for me, after a couple of Hours chilling in Garden with Wife plus a Game of Darts, an enjoyable Day.
Just the Day for a Barbie states Wife hence another Family Gathering this Afternoon, got to state enjoyed by all, one of Son in Laws again doing the cooking ie i,m not much for standing over a Barbie AS I KEEP STATING TO WIFE, Youngest Grandson had us all in turn playing Hide and Seek, must have lasted an hour, he luvvved it only just left hence time to relax and watch the last Episode of Poldark/.
Another Scorcher in Cleckie, Dog Checking, Ironing and a bit of Garden Work, all the Kids and Grandkids had gone out for the Day hence leaving us a few Duties, US MATURIES ARE DEF IN DEMAND, but can,t complain ie like Wife always says YOU,LL NEVER BE A SOFA CABBAGE hmmmm def a new expression on me but i get her gist.
House was full of Females at Dinnertime ie Wife Two Daughters and Grandaughter so i invited 13 Yr old Grandson up to Park for a game of Footie BIG MISTAKE ie after an hour we were soaked in Sweat hence he deciding to go to his House for a Shower and Chill, i walked down with him and decided to Water all his Parents Plants and do a bit of Weeding.By the time i got home the Ladies were just leaving, Wife being there Taxie Driver, they laughed on seeing me , Sweat dripping of my Face, ii headed straight in for an Ice Lolly and a cool shade in the Garden.
Just back from TAPPINOS in Cleckie, enjoyed a Birthday Meal for Grandsons 14th, three hours of good food drinks and of course Chats, hard to believe he,s now 14, he,s been at my side since being a Two Year Old and we,ve enjoyed growing up Together ie i,ve got away with a lot due to him, brought out the Kid in me/.
Thursday def comes around fast and Youngest Grandson was raring to keep me busy WHICH HE DID , again he enjoyed his Library Time, two hours of fun, surrounded by Ladies and Children, wish a few more Males would turn up ie i def at times feel out of place, but wat the eck he luvs it and thats what counts.
Caught up with Duties Today ie it,s been a busy Week and i fell behind, got plenty of Fresh Air as per normal Walkabout, some good Chats with Friends ALWAYS GET THE LATEST NEWS ABOUT CLECKIE some Sad ie locals passing away, but plenty of good ie Cleckie has a few Shop Facelifts going on, i,ll await and see what there becoming ie plenty of speculation but not Facts.
Watered Garden HELD THE HOSE WHILE WIFE WATERED, still dose,nt trust me when it comes to watering HER PLANTS, just finished and the heavens opened up I KEPT STUM, had a visit from Youngest Daughter and Husband, Daughter had Wife in stitches as per usual, partially at my expense hmmm, they stopped till Tea Time, again i had a slight lack of Duties, Wife deciding to do Ironing while i laid back and watched a film.
Wish Weather would make it,s mind up, Walks to Daughter in Sunshine ten minutes later dark clouds and Rain, gets to her House and Suns out again WHICH WAS HANDY FOR THE DOGS they don,t like coming out in Rain, on leaving Daughters Rain again, gets into Cleckie and Suns out tempting the Witherspooners out to the Tables, gets round to my Smokers Bench just lights up and Rains, i thought SOD IT and had my Smoke, Rain dripping down my face but wat the ell.Enclosing a few pics of Grandsons Birthday Tea plus one of him opening his Pressies, with part of his money he bought a new Scooter.
Weather just isn't stable anywhere at the moment Bob. Thanks for the great pics!!
Def unstable Kim but thankfully not to bad of a mix unlike some Countries at the moment, not to bad Today, Grandson joined me on my Walkabout with his new Scooter JEALOUS ie i,m still banned from mine SPOILSPORTS. Heres a few pics of another in Family that will help to keep me Motivated in a couple of Years Time Great Grandson with my Grandaughter ie his Young Aunt, plus one of Youngest Grandson that keeps me busy every Thursday.
Yes Bob, that one will definitely keep you on your toes in a couple of years - lovely pic!!
Was asking about a Plaque i saw on a Bench in Memorial Garden, BIG KEN and found it to be in Memory of a Chap i,ve talked to regular over the last five Years, Sociable and Chatted to many, did,nt live in Cleckheaton but came in by Bus early Morning and stopped the Day, normally having a Walkabout around Town before settling on same Bench with a couple of Cans, normally a Mate would join him ie another likeable Chap. The Locals set up a Page on Facebook that went towards his Funeral and the Plaque, i must have been on Holiday at the Time and missed it, very sad to hear , i,ll miss my Chats and sadly his Mate hase,nt been around for a while now, even the Park Keeper praised Ken ALWAYS PICKED LITTER UP AND CHATTED, HE STATED HE TO WOULD MISS HIM.
Youngest Daughter def enjoying being her own Boss, moving into new Premises at end of Month, she enjoyed where she was but needed her own facilities which new Premises has, i was asked if i ever dreamed of being my own Boss in Younger Days hmmm no chance, i liked not having to have the Worry of ensuring Orders were oncoming, i liked my Weekly Wage Packet, not happy at times about the Deductions hmmm, but otherwise no complaints. Weather fine on Walkabout this Morning but Drizzle most of Afternoon, 14yr old Grandsons first Day back at School looking very Smart, back at ours after School for a Chat TEA BISCUITS AND ORANGE GRANDADDY aye a brilliant conversationist hmmmnmn.
Thursday, that Day of having Life pointed out to me by a 3yr Old, questioning my knowledge, getting me rollickins from Wife for sneaking a biscuit to him when he,d already had two, deciding what film we were watching and then again getting a rollicking for letting him watch it, keeping me busy at Library Club pointing out where i should fold paper for him to glue, DEF AN INTERESTING DAY.
Def wish they,d stop putting all these Political Agendas on TV i,m getting a rabid Wife, she,ll state DON,T PUT IT ON, TURN IT OVER, O GO ON THEN I,LL JUST WATCH A BIT, then it,s grrrr grrrr grrrr and many questionable words, def what i call MESSROOM BANTER, the sooner it get,s sorted the better I JUST CANNOT AFFORD A NEW TELE AT THE MOMENT, plus have to keep my opinions to myself EVEN THOUGH I AGREE WITH HER.
Happily Bob, as I now live alone, I can just turn the damn thing off and I frequently do - I have no arguments with myself !!!!!
Never seen the Wife so angry Kim and yes def going to avoid News, Today i was looking forward to an easy going relaxing time but somehow got Drafted into Gardening Duties, SIX RUDDY HOURS and still not finished ie now it,s watering time, BACKACHE, LEGACHE AND ARMACHE, but wat the ell WIFES PLEASED and thats what counts.
Some Family visits Today and playing in Sandpit with Grandson hence late getting on top with my backlog of Ironing, eventually managed it, but an enjoyable Day, mainly sat in Garden and admiring all our hard work which the Kids Praised apart from YOU HAVE,NT BEEN UP THOSE RUDDY LADDERS AGAIN DAD ATTACKING THE IVY hmmmmm WHO ME NAGGGGGG.
Youngest Daughter here for Ten Thirty awaiting a Parcel, Wife and i had arranged to visit Wifes Sister and Hubbie ie his Birthday coming up hence Cards to deliver and a good natter, catching up on Family Life and the benifits of getting older hmmmm, enjoyable couple of hours then back Home, Daughter stayed for Dinner and had another good Chat ie she has us in stitches at times, they were arranging a Girls Night out while i arranged a Boys Night in, ME AND THE TELE
Wife arranged for a visit from Tree Surgeon hmmm, stating i was now to Old an infirm ie Hand Problem, to go up Ladders grrrrr, he called Today while Wife was out picking Daughter up from Work, we had a good Chat ie when at School he and other Friends of Youngest Daughter had our Garage as there own personal Youth Club, he quoted me a good price, so wat the ell i,ll bow down to Wifes Wisdom but will await her words in a Months Time when the leaves are falling ARE YOU GOING TO CLEAR THE GUTTERS BOB hmmmm i think words of wisdom will prevail.
Just a dog visit and Walkabout Today and chat with some Locals, Home Duties Ironing then lay back and watched Sink the Bismark for the 100th Time, had to switch over before end though ie WIFES RUDDY TIPPING POINT, have our Times on Tele and Four o Clock is hers till Nine hmmm can,t complain,or is it dare,nt complain hmmm
Watched that film so much Bob that I have worn it out !!!
It is Kim and great Actors of the Day, Todays been Grandsons choice of TV and Peppa Pig for an hour and a half has been hmmmmm, Library Club in Afternoon was an Hours chilling Time while he listened to the Stories and then we paired up to do Mask Colouring and Pasting, Bit of exercise running around the Library Grounds afterwards, me being the T Rex, ended up with a sore throat.
Another visit from Youngest Grandson Today COME TO KEEP YOU COMPANY POPPADAD, BUT ONLY FOR FOUR HOURS AS MUMMY AND DADDY ARE TAKING ME TO MACDONALDS, hmmmm, hence playing in sandpit, building with lego , ALL THE ENJOYABLE EXCUSES TO KEEP ME AS A YOUNG UN ie Wife could,nt complain about the various noises i made such as Plane landing, Digger digging etc, LUV IT.
Car Washing Day while we still have a bit of Sunshine, sadly the Old Lady is having a few Problems and def time for an upgrade, will be sad when she has to go as i,ve enjoyed a number of Years in her comfort, but sadly nothing lasts forever I,M TALKING ABOUT THE CAR hmmmm
Understood Bob, I have the same feelings about mine. It's due for an MOT next week and, although it has a very low mileage for its age, I can see it can't last forever.
I know it sounds daft Kim , but it,s like one of the Family, it,s been a great Lifeline for Wife, a Taxie Service for one of the Daughters and Eldest Grandson, a couple of Tours in Scotland, various Parks and Days out for Youngsters ect She,s always obliged NOTE THE SHE Wife always states that Females are the best organisors and always on call for Family, no arguement from me.On another note i reckon Gardens are a never ending Saga, i,ve spent at least 14hrs this Week alone working in with Wife ensuring all Plants are at there best and Shrubs manicured, i state helping but in reality i,m the underdog who knows nowt about the upkeep and def should leave any organising to her, in other words SHUT IT AND JUST LABOUR WHEN REQUESTED , again i use those famous words used in front of wise Wifes I KNOW MY PLACE.
No it doesn't sound daft Bob, cars can become like one of the family, in fact my ex-sister-in-law calls hers GRANDAD !!!!!!!
Was looking through the Photo Albums Today, well a couple of them ie thankfully over the Years Wife has ensured we have many to look back on and she stated it was hard to believe our two eldest are in there 40s, Time certainly has flown but great that we have such Albums to look back on.Managed Walkabout, Ironing plus Training Today, i think those Photos prompted me to ensure i stay fit for a bit longer Yet,
There is something about photos Bob - as my late husband used to say - PRECIOUS TODAY, PRICELESS TOMORROW !!!!
Cars have been an important part of my life, always sad when I have changed. Have now settled for more sedate driving and use all the technology on offer, this also keeps my mind busy. Like many, my insurance goes up with a bump every year despite not claiming for at least 40+ years, shop around they say, well they all come up with the same result...it is an age thing!!!!!!
Have,nt seen my Brother for a few Years now but i,m in touch with his Family via Facebook, i,ve noticed over the last Year he,s hardly been in any of there Photographs, just been told this Evening he,s suffering with Alzeimers and wanted it kept from Relatives, was sad to hear, he was always an active person hence can understand him wanting his privacy, i,d feel exactly the same, his Family are ensuring he tries with Computer plus play his favourite Music, we both used to agree that Music is the best Diary of Time.
Wife talked me into having another go at clearing Shed, i state talked hmmm, anyway i was persuaded, she would,nt go in SPIDERS, we managed to clear half, a few arguements about what to keep and what to throw, we compromised hmmm her getting the better of me, but i suppose she was right with some, anyway she was pleased with the result and thats what counts MAYBE WE CAN START ON THE OTHER HALF TOMORROW, in her Dreams.
Don't know what it is about spiders Bob, they can be large but so small compared to us and they are also generally harmless but they just give me the shudders !!!
I have to say that spiders have never bothered me. I remember when we moved from RAF Leuchars to RAF Shawbuty a couple of strapping removal men wouldn't touch one of the crates because there was a spider on it and they were astonished when I walked over, gently lifted the spider off and let it go on the grass after telling them they were a couple of big girls blouses!
One thing I do not like are cockroaches, especially when they present in numbers.
One thing I do not like are cockroaches, especially when they present in numbers.
I,ve just been in Garage getting a box out for Wife, told her to pull bin liner off while i held Top of Box, next minute she,s at other side of Garage TWO LITTLE SPIDERS ON BOX, lifted them carefully and placed them outside, Cockroaches def not my thing Kim, while in Malta in my Young RN Days. Myself and Oppo decided to take what we thought was a shortcut back to Ship, a deserted old Warehouse Area , pitch black hence heading towards a light further on, kept hearing crunching noise underfoot hence Oppo getting out his lighter RUDDY ELL WE WERE WALKING THROUGH A SEA OF COCKROACHES turned around and ran like the blazes back from where we came
That is totally sick-making Bob !!!!
Busy couple of Days, spent Day and Night at Youngest Daughters, Dog and House Sitting while they went away to Sheffield to watch HOZIER, was knackered when i got Home, Dogs sure kept me busy, they had a great time and appreciated my helping, Eldest Daughter got some good news on Friday, her Daughter ie my only Grandaughter managed to get into Grammar School hence well done her, i,ve a lot of Ironing to catch up with Today, fallen behind with Duties hmmmm.
Many congratulations to your Grand-daughter, Bob - good to see that grammar schools still exist.
Aye Kim, sadly we lost many, one in Cleckheaton was called Whitcliffe Grammar, then became Whitcliffe Mount, the School which caused a rumpus when Kirklees decided to pull it down was a great old building, now replaced by a Modern School, the one Grandaughter will be going to is in Heckmondwike, still keeping it,s old frontage but a modern layout behind, it has a great reputation hence hoping she likes it.Finished my Duties Today, we had 14yr old Grandson having a Sleepover, ruddy ell can that Lad Eat, Wife dropped him off at Home at Twelve, then he and his Mum and Dad were here for Tea plus Youngest Daughter and Hubbie, Wife voted me in as Dishwasher Drier Upper AS PER USUAL ie to busy Chatting.
I seem to be on a SAVE THE HEDGEHOG CAMPAIGN these last few Days, first the Grandson collars me due to seeing a Hedgehog ambling into Road hence moving it into a safe Area, then Last Night Daughter collars me after seeing a Small Hedgehog heading Towards Busy Street hence again moving it to safety, then this Evening a Neighbor calls accross and states a Hedgehog is on next door Neighbors Drive, i told him it would be ok as it was heading Towards his GardenTen minutes later i get a shout from next door Neighbor DO ME A FAVOUR BOB AND I,LL TRIM THE TREES FOR A YEAR, he wanted me to move the Hedgehog that was still on his Drive, he was wary in case it bit him or got bugs from it hmmmmm, i play crafty ie bugs wise, i take a couple of Dog Poo Bags out of my Pocket and use them as Gloves, TRANSFERRED IT TO A SAFE PLACE, think thats my good deeds done, got to state i luv Hedgehogs.
Rained all Day and really heavy at Times, i was really agitated with having nothing to do ie Youngests Day Off hence no Dogs to see to, decided to do an hours training and then relaxed for the rest of the Day in front of Tele watching old Westerns, News banned in my House for time being hence did,nt have to switch over, i did feel guilty just laying there BUT ONLY FOR A MINUTE.
Phone call Today YOU NEED TO CONTACT YOUR BANK URGENT, 600 POUNDS HAS BEEN TAKEN OUT OF YOUR ACCOUNT SUSPICIOUSLY, PLEASE PRESS 1, hmmmm i put phone down straight away and stated to Wife SOME LUCKY SOD HAS JUST GOT 600 POUNDS FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT, but you don,t have a Bank Account, I KNOW THATS WHY I RECKON HE OR SHE IS LUCKY. Joking aside i,ve got to admit to getting at least three such calls a Week , INLAND REVENUE NEED TO CONTACT YOU URGENTLY. YOUR NUMBER HAS JUST COME UP ON YOUR TICKET, YOUR COMPUTER IS GOING TO GO OFF ect, they surely must think me thick, but then i realised with there tone of urgency it could fool some Elder Maturies or some in the first throws of Alzheimers, hence via Pages i have on Facebook sending out warnings, they def seem to know the Age group to pick on.
Hi Bob - I have had 3 calls over the last couple of days telling me that someone has fraudulently used my credit card, I knew this wasn't true because it has never been out of my sight. The caller pretended to be from the police saying they had arrested two people in connection with it. Anyway, I just slammed the phone down. One rather interesting thing is that when I checked who had called (on 1471) a number came up which, when I checked it out on Google, turned out to be from Argentina !!! There are some very nasty buggas around Bob - not sure what game this lot are playing but they have definitely picked on the wrong 'victim' this time. Rather sad to think they could have caused real distress to someone else as they are very convincing.
Very Sad Kim, they are stating that over a Billion is Frauded each Year in UK alone and i,ll bet most of this is from the Vulnrable , no wonder these WASTE OF SPACERS try every trick in the book and most of it ends up Abroad hence hard to trace.Today it,s been building Lego Time, watching Childrens TV, Library Club, Finding Conkers in Park ect in other words YOUNG GRANDSON ON A SLEEPOVER, dropped off early this Morning and finally just Dropped of now.
