BOB'S DAILY DIARY IE THROUGH MATURIE YEARS
Bob, These days the likely lads have only to put on a day-glo jacket and folks think they are on official business. it seems that they put those red bollards around an area and remove the flagstones unchallenged. these when sold for driveways / extensions etc. The older areas like Roundhay seem to be the places targeted..
It must be 20 years or so when a Tiler friend of mine was tilling a house I had moved into In Leeds and I mentioned that I would like a new fireplace in the lounge. he said if I could wait a couple of weeks there was a sale of Flagstones locally. He arrived not long after with this Yorkshire stone piece about 3ft.x 4ft. and split it down the middle. it revealed the most beautiful different shades. After he finished it he put a walnut mantel piece at the top and same as a hearth. it looked fabulous .
I would think there is a high demand for old stone slabs. It is happening down here in Gloucester/ Somerset where old dry stone walling is being stolen.

Sad to see JD , Old Yorkshire stone is def a favourite and those taking it are def getting braver, even Cemetries are not safe, on another note as i,ve mentioned i,ve suffered with Arm and Shoulder for a while now and dismissed Wifes comment on my Training, hence been checking if theres something i,ve missed and i think i found it.Was diagnosed with Athritus top of Spine 12Yrs ago and Doctor recommended i take Tablets, but on reading the side effects i thought NO CHANCE and told him so TRY GLUCOSOMINE he suggested , natural vitamin, i did and a couple of Months on NO PROBLEM, I,,d noticed the Glucosomine Wife had bought me a Month ago were slightly different colour ie not White which i,d bought from Health Shop, she,d bought these from Supermarket slightly cheaper, i pointed it out to her on Thursday and she went to Health Shop and bought me my normal ones, i,ve noticed a difference already , HENCE MAYBE BACK TO TRAINING NEXT WEEK, Today it,s been heavy rain over Cleckie and my duty calls AS YOU,VE GUESSED IRONING, all the best for now JD.
Nice relaxing Day, Wife finished the Ironing off to allow me to finish watching a Film, even an extra hour in bed with Breakfast delivered, I,M STILL AWAITING WITH BAITED BREATH ON THE REASON, am i getting a sympathy vote, has she broken one of my favourite Glasses, i would ask BUT SHE MIGHT THINK I,M UNGRATEFUL and ban me to my Office, she seems happy enough, maybe it,s because we,ve been invited to a Day out next Saturday and i actually said OK LUV.
Great to get back in touch with Relatives then being sent Photos from there Family Albums, surprising the Momentoes that they still have, my Grandfather Wells being a Cameron Highlander like many other of my Relatives and a Cousin still having his Case was great to hear, plus Photos of him in Younger Days, nice to show my own Kids and Grandkids. So much gets lost through time or when loosing touch THE POWER OF THE COMPUTER has certainly helped get in touch with Relatives you knew nothing about and can now add to Family History to pass on.
This is def a favourite of mine, Grt Grandad Fox, served in India for most of his 25Yrs in the Gordons, some of his Children Born in Ceylon ie Married my Gt Granma while serving there, on leaving Service Caretaker at Cameron Barracks Inverness where his Son,s learnt the basics for there Military Service,LUV FAMILY HISTORY
What some incredible family momentoes Bob - they must mean a lot to you.
Wish like probably many other Members Wish THAT I,D ASKED MORE QUESTIONS WHEN YOUNG Kim, i was reading an article Today on THE CAMERONS COMFORTERS, started during First World War ie Socks Scarfs Shirts etc, and was reading a letter of Thanks to the group from a LT Col RL McCALL, in appreciation for the gifts and how it boosted morale , i suddenly realised that Col McCALL Is in one of the photos of my Grandfathers that i have hung on my Office Wall.
Well, when we are young Bob, we are unable to see the significance of a lot of things, so we just don't question them. When my father died 18 years ago and I was going through his things, I discovered my Great-Grandfather's military papers, John Henry Dimond, who served as a Naval Officer aboard HMS Victory, of which I had no previous knowledge - it all made very fascinating reading.
One photo always pride of place over my Grandfather Fox,s Fireplace was one i had passed onto me by an Uncle and Yesterday i read this Piece during a Search on Cameron History it was about CAMERON COMFORTS FOUNDED BY ANDREW PATERSON FIRST WORLD WAR i noted this comment from a letter sent to Paterson by Lt Col RL McCALL, WE HAVE JUST RECIEVED YOUR CONSIGNMENT OF SOCKS, HOSE TOPS, SCARFS AND SHIRTS FOR WHICH PLEASE ACCEPT THE THANKS OF THE BATTALION THESE GIFTS ARE MUCH APPRECIATED BY THE MEN AND ARE OF EXTRAORDINARY USE ESPECIALLY NOW THE COLD WEATHER IS STARTING, I AM AFRAID LETTERS CONVEY A SMALL AMOUNT OF WHAT WE WISH TO EXPRESS, BUT I HOPE YOU WILL UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH WE APPRECIATE THE THOUGHTS FOR OUR WELFARE OF THOSE AT HOME, the Commanding Officer in the Photo passed onto me is none other than Lt Col R.L. McCALL
I,m going to def have to visit Fort George again on my next visit to Inverness, i finally managed last visit and saw a couple of Great Uncles exhibits, hoping to get more info next Time, but it,s such a big place with a lot of the Collection not on display ie they have to move Articles around every so often ie change it around, great to see my Great Uncles Bible on show.Normall Walkabout this Morning and thankful Grandsons on Holiday from School and helping me with Dog Walk, his Mum had to go into Hospital for a Bowel check up Yesterday which worried him, she,s been at ours Today ie Wife keeping an eye on her while Grandson and his Dad went to watch Godzilla at Cinema, they,d arranged it a Week ago and Daughter did,nt want to spoil there fun, her Husband had booked this Week off.Daughters had a rough time lately, other Check went well and this is the final one, she,s been really nervous this past Week but we,ve been there for her.
Ruddy ell aint Time flying, watched a good Film with Young Grandson before my Walk this Morning HIS CHOICE HONEST Mega Shark, DON,T BE SCARED GRANDAD IT,S ONLY A FILM hmmm, Rained on my visit to Dogs but very Warm hence did,nt mind the Soaking, Library again in afternoon where he played for an hour with a little Lass a couple of Years older than him, kept on calling her GIRL instead of Name, again he kept me busy on return to our House, picking up another selection of Twigs on the way,TREE,S GIVE US FRESH AIR GRANDAD, spot on, but i,m not quite sure about Twigs,
Surely by now my Wife should know my limitations and putting a new Loo Roll in downstairs Toilet is def a NO NO , it,s a stand up Chrome type with fitment under for Brush, you rock it forward to get Brush out and it has a chrome flap over loo roll hmmmm i call it a Mouse Trap due to it catching my knuckles many a time, plus the Spring on the Toilet Holder is a strong one.Due to being called a WOOOOSSSS and Wife being busy i proceeded to take of the holder and apply Toilet Roll, RUDDY SPRING SPRANG BACK FLAP CAME DOWN AND I,VE A RUDDY HOLE IN MY FINGER SPURTING BLOOD, ran into Kitchen to show Wife with a trail following me, WAT THE RUDDY ELL HAVE YOU DONE NOW or words to that effect, I TOLD YOU THAT RUDDY HOLDER HAD SOMETHING AGAINST ME or words to that effect, IT LOOKS LIKE YOU,LL NEED A COUPLE OF STITCHES hmmmm no ruddy Hospital for me, JUST BANG A PLASTER ON, i,ve got a feeling i will not be changing a loo roll in the near future.
Bob, my daughter bought a similar loo roll holder and it soon ended up on the Council tip!! The entire family pronounced it EVIL and my son-in-law got rather nervous about standing too close to it with his pants down!!!!!!!!!!
We have a difference of opinion on ours Kim and the BOSS says it stays hmmm, busy Day Yesterday , early visit to Dogs so i could catch up with Duties as Son was picking us up at One O Clock and taking us to 40s Weekend in Brighouse, Eldest Grandson called in for an hour before we left and had a good laugh with him while he had some Dinner.Brighouse was rammed ie no where to Park hence Son took Car back to his while Myself Wife Daughter in Law and Grandson had a Walkabout, Grandson luvved the two Jets doing a Fly Past and manouveres, so much to see but trying to see was hard work, , Brighouse was extremely busy , met a few Friends and then settled for a Cuppa and Cream Scone in a corner Cafe. Back to Sons for a Barbie and then watching Footie on Tele, then drinks and a good Gab, one of my other Daughters and Hubbie had joined us at Barbie Time so left with them in Taxie at 12.30, Wife made her normal after the event comment this Morning THINK I OVERDID IT WITH THE WINE, I,M GOING TO LAY OFF IT NEXT TIME wats the old saying ie IF I HAD A POUND FOR EVERY TIME I HEARD THAT I,D BE RICH.
Bit of a Breeze in Cleckie Today but still Warm, after my Morning Duties i suggested clearing top of banking to Wife hmmmm wish i hade,nt, tis always the same , my suggestions are CRAP she as the Gardener knows exactly what goes where and maybe i,m more suited to getting rid of the Weeds and Rubbish she throws at me and leave her to organise SHE DOES NOT ACTUALLY SAY THAT IN WORDS, BUT ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS which i,m never short of finding out.Somehow we managed a couple of hours without attacking each other wheeewwwww twas hard work though.
Dismal with Showers in Cleckie, no need for getting Hose out thats for sure, went with Wife to Brighouse after seeing to Dogs this Morning, she was treating me to Dinner then buying me some CHINOS hmmm, i wondered what she meant but it turns out there a Cotton type Jeans,WANTS ME TO LOOK A BIT SMARTER hmmm, got to admit i liked them hence got a Pair of Dark and a Beige, we had a bit of Hargie about size, i always get 32 Waist which she states is wrong RUDDY ELL THERE SUPPOSED TO ANG AROUND YOUR WAIST NOT BELOW IT, we compromised I GOT A 32 AND 34, though i,ve got to state 34 angs looser, but wat the eck they fit me , 32 nice and snug and they did,nt split when i bent down AS I PROVED TO WIFE BY TOUCHING MY TOES A NUMBER OF TIMES, nice to be treated hence no complaints.
As i walked through Memorial Park this Morning British Legion Chaps were ensuring area around Memorial was spot on, had a good Chat with them great Lads, first words on seeing me was EY UP LADS A SEAMANS HERE, luv taking the Mickey, Flower beds have all been freshly Planted and Grass cut , everything looking Shipshape for the March and Muster on Saturday. Was told to make myself presentable and reminded of the Time, I,M ALWAYS PRESENTABLE ON THESE OCCASSIONS, and yes looking forward to it, some of my Mates i only see on these occassions ie live out of Town but always pay there respects.Tomorrow Morning i,m paying my respects at a Workmate from Younger Days Funeral, i,d gone to his Wifes last Year, Sad time for Family.
Paid my Respects at Church and then went onto Cemetery with Family to see there Father Grandfather and Great Grandfather laid to rest, sounds strange but never have i been to a Burial, it,s always been Cremations , my Friend was buried in same plot as his Wife , Plot behind were there Parents and Plot at side a Sister, my Friends Son mentioned he,d bought a Family Plot at side of his Parents BUT I,M NOT RUSHING TO MOVE IN he stated. They invited me back to the Family Gathering and i had a good Chat with the Two Son,s, they both knew me from the same firm i and there Father worked at ie both working there a couple of Years before going into the Building Trade and running there own Company, one of there Daughters and Son knew one of my Grandsons and there Dads had been good Mates with some of my Nephews hence a good Chat before returning Home to spend time with Young Grandson.I,D SET OFF WALKING AT 9.15 this Morning, checked on Dogs then onto Catholic Church in Heckmondwike, after the Funeral i was offered a lift hence giving the Legs a rest, his Family did him Proud Horse Drawn Hearse with three attendants in Top Hats and Style, travelling through Heckmondwike to Dewsbury, all the Traffic stopping and allowing us all through the Streets and Roads.
Wet Day in Cleckie, fingers crossed for it being dry Tomorrow Morning, at least it gave me reason to catch up with Ironing plus Polish my Shoes ready for Tomorrow, had to laugh an hour ago on one of my Oppos putting his Class Photo from Raleigh onto his Page, recognised most of them in it due to me being Backclassed into his Mess, among them is my Best Mate from those Years and a couple of others that also joined my First Ship, surprising how some you still easily recognise after so many Years , great to see.
Great turnout in Cleckie Today, i joined the March down to Memorial Park, had to laugh before the March, myself and my Mate Jim had a Query about our MP Tracy Brabin and i mentioned we could sort it out at the Parade Today ie she was attending, she knows Jim hence on seeing us came over for a Chat, i nudged Jim GO ON ASK HER, it was due to a photo of her and another couple of MP.s in London.I won, but we had a good laugh about it and was having a good Chat when we were ordered to JOIN PARADE, she decided to march with myself and Jim but the March Commander on seeing her ordered her up front to Join Mayor, Baroness and other Top People, she seemed dissapointed. The locals from around the Area braved the heavy Rain to pay there respects, like it was said by a speaker OUR LADS WENT THROUGH ROUGHER WEATHER THAN THIS, in all from March to Honouring they stood there an Hour and Half listening to respects plus singing the Songs, Proud to be there.
Four Thirty in the Morning i,m woken up by a pair of Blackbirds making a right racket outside my Window, puts on Nightgown and Slippers and rushes out, to late , ruddy Cats killed one of there Young, same Cat that killed one of the nesting Wood Pigions Yesterday which upset Wife, now i,m on Sentry duty trying to protect all the other Birds nesting around our Garden, if it,s not Cat it,s ruddy Magpies.Helped wife with a bit of cut back in Garden, she,s nearly filled the Wheelie Bin we,ve hired from Council for Garden Rubbish ie Grass Cuttings and anything related to Garden, 35 pounds a Year and emptied every Fortnight, not to bad.Managed an hours Ironing before settling back and watching THE LONGEST DAY not quite sure which one i,ve watched most THIS OR SINK THE BISMARK, i mention that due to the Wife questioning me.
Just missed the heavy Rain in Cleckie this Morning, on way back from Dogs i got collared outside Witherspoons, some Friends checking my History of our Area, ends up chatting for an hour ie facing the Town Hall Clock which started chiming 12, hence had to rush Home, turns out i did,nt have to bother as Wife had gone Shopping.Had Youngest Grandson dropped off at 1.30 for Four Hours, he again wanted to watch a violent Shark Film, i flicked through some suitable Cartoon Films, but NO it had to be Shark.WHY DOES WIFE NEVER BELIEVE IT WAS HIS CHOICE NOT MINE hmmmm AND WHY DOES GRANDSON LOOK AT ME AS THOUGH IT WAS MY CHOICE, he would,nt let me turn it off though hmmm i can,t win.
No walkabout this Morning, Daughter had a Day off hence Wife wanting to finish a corner of the Garden, couple of hours and job well done before Rain came in, after Dinner i set to on Ironing duties while Wife finished her knitting, somehow she,d decided to do Neck of Cardigan she was doing for Young Grandson slightly different from previous ones and there was a lot of BLEEP BLEEP BLEEPS, after i finished ironing it felt unsafe to put Tele on so decided to go to my Office and use Computer. Wife went out at 2.15 to pick another Daughter up from Work BLISS FOR HALF AN HOUR on her return she made me a Cuppa and stated I,LL HAVE TO FINISH THAT KNITTING i shot off upstairs, nice and peacefull for a short while then some more BLEEP BLEEPS, i kept my mouth shut and kept out of her way untill tea time, she did apologise for her outbursts once she managed to finish RUDDY ELL I,M THANKFUL I CAN,T KNIT
Took Dog a nice Walk this Morning, i say Dog ie one due to the fact her Mother refused to budge, i,d put Lead on her and tried to coax but to no evail, she took one look at the Rain outside and shot back on the Settee, giving me that YOU MUST BE JOKING look, she missed an enjoyable but wet walk. On returning Home Wife was in Garden AS PER USUAL, just need your help for half an hour Bob, GAVE HER AN HOUR THEN STATED THATS IT and she can pack it in with YOU PUSSY, nice chilling Afternoon , no BLEEPS no KNITTING, JUST CALMMMMMM.
Had to laugh at a comment made by Young Grandson this Afternoon, we,d been to Library Club and he,d been well behaved, decided to stop afterwards as there were still a couple of Kids there, an Assistant had brought out a box filled with wooden tracks and a couple of little Trains, all was going fine till a little Lass crashed into his Train HE GROWLED AT HER IE LIKE A LION, she was taken aback and her Mother was in Stitches. Then he decided he liked the Car the little boy was playing with hence grabbing it and pushing Train into his hand, i decided it was time to go, outside Library he looks up at me and states POPPADAD I CAN,T BEHAVE MYSELF ALL THE TIME YOU KNOW, I AM ONLY THREE, MAYBE WHEN I,M FOUR I,LL BE WISER hmmmmm wat could i say to that ,it,s a wonder he did,nt state AND YOU,VE NO ROOM TO TALK GRANMAS ALWAYS TELLING YOU OFF, nuff said.
Out of the mouths of babes, Bob!!!!! Aren't they wonderful ??
Very true Kim, they,ve had me in stitches for Years, my two eldest Grandsons called in from Work Yesterday and first words i got from one was HAVE YOU A SPARE PAIR OF SOCKS GRANDAD and the other AND JEANS FOR ME GRANDAD, i,ve def no need to take anything to Charity Shop , i only have to pass it on, mind you there both working on Plastering hence i think they were being safe entering House under there Granmas stern gaze. Eldest called in again for a few hours this Afternoon before his Driving Lesson, BROUGHT YOU A SHIRT TO IRON GRANDAD, lucky for him i was about to start Ironing Duties, Then Son and his Family called in with there Fathers Day Pressies as they were away for Weekend, Youngest Grandson proudly giving me his Envelope HAPPY BIRTHDAY POPPADAD, they had to explain again Fathers Day.
While Wife was doing cleaning Duties i went on a Walkabout, visited the Dogs then called round Town, i asked a couple of Mates about one of the Lads i,d heard was taken into Pinderfields a Week ago ie Heart, he normally passes me every Morning on his Mobility, turns out he,d come out of Hospital Yesterday and Today he,s in his Local with Mates, HE,S NOT STOPPING IN STARING AT FOUR WALLS END OF STORY, his comment, can,t say i blame him. After Dinner Wife and i went up to Local Park, a Charity Event going on CHILDREN AGAINST ATHRITUS, it was started a couple of Years ago ELIZAS PICNIC, great turn out and a lot going on, Weather was kind for nearly four hours and the stalls were busy Live Music by Local Musicians put on by the the LIVE ROOM CLUB which is based in centre of Cleckie and very good it was ie nearly had me Dancing, just got home in time , the Heavens opened up and lashed it down.
Wife comments that my Walkabouts consist of me gaining News for the Page i run on Cleckie and she,s right ie i gain a lot of info, one of the Members and his Wife has been under the Weather lately hence not been Posting, but his Daughter updates them, on the 29th of this Month they,ll be Cellebrating 73 yrs of Married Life, his Wife Irene has been in a care home for a few Years now and Jack joined her last Year, he,d been visiting every Day hence it was as he would put it COMMON SENSE, i,ve enjoyed his stories via Page and he,s just Posted a THANK YOU to all well wishers, thats what a page should be like, AMIABLE i call it, NO POLITICS, RELIGION OR AGRIVATING, just Great Photos, reminiscing and Chatting to Old Friends. HERES JACK AND IRENE ON WEDDING DAY.
Thanks for a wonderful photo Bob, 73 years of marriage is quite an achievement, my love and congratulations to them both.
A lovely couple Kim and Jack enjoys Computer, great Memory and shared a lot via Page, lovely at the moment in Cleckie and i,m just back from Dog Walking and Walkabout and YES a good chat with some Locals, being updated on improvement around Town of some of the Older Buildings.Youngest Daughter gave her notice at Work Yesterday hence end of next Month will be self employed, she was doing so well with her Nails, Facials, Spray Tans etc she took over the Bigger room in the upstairs of the Hairdressers , they,d stated they had many of there Customers wanting to book in with her hence WHY NOT, she and her Hubby had discussed it and he backed her up, GOOD PARTNERSHIP and i wished her all the best, she is def a grafter JUST LIKE HER MUM.Heres Jack and Irene Kim, awaiting to go out and enjoy themselves.
Thanks for another great photo Bob, a lovely couple indeed!! Glad to hear you have some good weather today, been chucking it down here and still is. Great to know how well your daughter is doing, I'm sure she will prosper, she certainly deserves to!
Cheers Kim, again nice Weather in Cleckie and had a nice Chat with a Maturie on way back through Town, he,s an active Chap highly involved with our Local Round Table, a Liberal Campaighner in Younger Years plus a Magistrate, he was mentioning as a little Lad going around Cleckie Carol Singing and thought they,d try there luck at Turnsteads House, owned by SIR BERNARD SUGDEN who i mentioned before set up his Famous Shirt Making Buisness in Cleckie 150Yrs ago this Year. They reached the big doors and sang a couple of songs, door opened and Butler ushered them into a massive Lounge filled with the important Families of Cleckheaton, they were asked to sing some Carols hence sang all they knew, when finished they were ushered to the Door by Butler and asked to wait, he returned with a Silver Salveo with a Ten Bob Note in the middle HE AND HIS BROTHER DECIDED TO CALL IT A NIGHT IE FELT RICH. I remember Turnsteads house well, lovely building with two Gate Houses, sadly gone and new detached Houses stand on that spot, but Gate Houses were sold seperate and still there, i luv listening to the Stories, like i stated ONCE YOUR GONE SO ARE THE STORIES IF NOT WRITTEN DOWN, i,ll keep collecting them to ensure there shared.
I,m getting used to the Afternoon Session with Youngest Grandson at Library, just wish i was,nt the only Male there, but he luvs going even though his minds elsewhere when it comes to Story Time, also managed an hours Ironing while he watched a T Rex Film NO ROLLICKINGS FROM WIFE IE TWAS THE LEGGO ONE, full house for Tea hence a lot of dishes to wash, but wat the ell i,m fast, Weather Kind which meant Wife spent a couple of hours in Garden, she did call me out a couple of times but i was watching the Film with Grandson phewwwwww.
Another Fun Day, normal duties around Cleckie then an Afternoon of Fun with Youngest Grandson, really chuffed when i asked him how Old i was 27 Grandad, WOW MUST BE MY NEW SHAVING CREAM, then i asked him HOW OLD IS GRANNIE 27 Grandad hmmm HOW OLD IS YOUR MUMMY 27 Grandad, HOW COME EVERYONES 27 i like 27 Grandad, awwww wellllll it was a short lived 27 but wat the eck.
YES i,ve got to be honest and state Wife was correct in reminding me that i promised to clean the Connie Roof two Months ago, BUT TIS A JOB THAT NEEDS AGILITY AND A STRONG BACK hence Wife admitting she would,nt be suitable hmmmm, Yesterday she hinted on getting someone in to do it at a cost of 50 Quid, this morning i was up the ladder and balancing on the Roof struts, took me an hour and a half but Wife was pleased with end result 50 RUDDY QUID, I,M A MAN THAT STILL WEARS A MONEY BELT WITH AN OLD MOTH COLLECTION INSIDE.
Good on you Bob !! I have an extension flat roof that needs a coat of bitumen - I'm sure you would find that a doddle (lol)!!!!
Def sounds easier than my Connie Kim BUT I,LL PASS ha ha, i reckon Wifes got a few more duties in line for me, luv it when she states YOUR GETTING TO OLD FOR THESE JOBS , WE NEED SOMEONE YOUNGER , states it regular, as i,ve said before FEMALE TACTICS TO GET A JOB DONE especially when she mentions COST grrrrr. Caught up with Ironing duties Today plus a bit of Shoe Polishing Grandkids reckon my old Navy Brushes are the best ESPECIALLY WHEN IT,S GRANDAD USING THEM hmmm, very crafty are my Family with there praises.
On my way through Memorial Park this Morning British Legion were attending a Service around the Memorial, they were just setting up as i walked through to Dogs hence had a chat with some i knew, i mentioned i,d be back in Time for Service and i just managed it, after Service i was invited with them to the Grange Nearbye and treated to Scones Biscuits and a hot Cuppa by the Cheerful Ladies.Stopped and hour for a good chat before heading Home, just timed it right before Rain started again, nice peaceful afternoon, Wife mentioning jobs we could have been doing if not for Rain COMON RAIN COMON RAIN glad she,s not into her mind reading skills lately
I just cannot understand the Wife ie no duties Today hence with it raining THOUGHT GREAT, RELAX, CHILL OUT, but all i get from Wife is BORING, hence i suggested a couple of jobs she could do in House while i lay back on Settee trying for 40 Winks, BOBBB BOBBB CAN YOU JUST COME HERE A MINUTE, next thing i,m helping her repack things, arranging articles on top of wardrobe after she ensured dust free. Her Car was picked up by Mechanic this morning for a check hence she could,nt call to Town plus no Taxie Service to do, she def is a work machine, makes me laugh when she states WISH I WASE,NT SO BUSY AND COULD JUST SIT BACK AND RELAX, has the oppertunity like Today and ruddy complains hmmmmm i give up.
A change in the Weather, warm here in Cleckie and enjoyed my Walkabout, Duties few due to Wife pinching yet again my Basket of Ironing, think my only Task was to clean the Garden Cuttings Bin. Had to laugh when she called me into Garden to look at one of her Solar Lights, bottom half of it was filled with Woodlice, we just could,nt understand how they got in, Wife suggested i took the back off and eject them BIG MISTAKE IE TOOK THE FOUR SCREWS OUT BUT SOMEHOW THEY JUST WOULD,NT GO BACK IN IE CRAP THREADS Wife emphasising my crap DIY skills, so i gave her a chance with two of the other screws, her comment being RUDDY CHEAP LIGHTS hmmm no mention of her DIY skills.
Extra Duty Today was assisting Wife with a small plot near one of Daughters, it,s hers but been unattended for a few Years till Wife cleared it earlier this Year and put some Plants in, Today there were Shrubs and Grasses to add, went a bit like DIG A HOLE THERE then apply the Shrub HMMMM NO I THINK MAYBE THE OTHER SHRUB. Went through this procedure a few times but got there in the end and had to admit it looked good WIFE AND HER GARDENING SKILLS, ME KEEPING MY MOUTH SHUT AND JUST DOING AS I,M TOLD great Partnership.
An easy going Day, no Childminding Duties, after my Walkabout twas just myself and Wife, she,d done the Washing and Shopping while i did the Dusting , then a couple of hours relaxing to Sun,s Rays in Garden, then joined by Two Eldest Grandsons who came to ours straight from Work, they to decided to lounge in Garden with a couple of cold Beers They def had us in stitches reminding us of our DON,T RUN YOU,LL FALL and many other safety quips when they were Young, they stopped past our Tea Time hence Wife being there Taxie Service Home, i still get my Cuddle and LUV YOU before they leave.
Up early, down Town for 9.30 for meet up at Witherspoons with Forces Mates before on to Memorial Park hence a good chat before getting there 20mins early and another good chat, service was spot on and great Speeches from Guests, after Service we were treated to Coffee or Tea with goodies at the Catholic Church.Home for 12.30 and chilled while Wife arranged food for Barbie that some of the Family were attending, all here for 4.30 and an enjoyable time in the Sun, then suddenly at Eight o Clock the skys opened up and heavy downpour, NOT COMPLAINING IE IT HAD BEEN A BRILLIANT DAY.
Early Morning Duties, a visit to a Daughters House to Water Garden and Pots, then over to Brighouse to do same at Sons, both returning from Spain hence Wife ensuring everything Shipshape, Wifes been to both there Houses a number of times over the Week, Daughters been sending me photos, all inclusive for both of them and like they state, costs more but worth it.They did,nt realise when they booked there Holidays that they,d booked same destination, even on same Plane, but different parts of Island hence comparing Photos on returning, Wifes watching Glastonbury at the moment, SHE ALWAYS WANTED US TO GO, but afraid not my cup of tea now 60S AND 70S DEF, but Rapping uuugh.
Got some nice Pressies from Son and Wife and Daughter and Hubbie plus Grandsons, as did Wife, a thank you for looking after there Houses and Tending there Gardens while they lived it up in Spain, both Families having a great Time, back to normality for them Tomorrow ie Work, happy to have them home , as Wife always states NO MATTER HOW OLD THEY ARE YOU STILL WORRY. Enclosing a pic taken before the March and one taken while Sunbathing with Grandsons on Friday HOLD YOUR STOMACH IN GRANDAD hmmmm mines Natural ha ha.
What a good-looking trio Bob !!
They,d just finished Work, called in for a Beer and to TEASE GRANDAD Kim , bless em, Todays been I DON,T FEEL LIKE DOING ANYTHING DAY, managed the Dog Walk and wander through Cleckie plus a couple of Chats, got back and did a couple of jobs on Connie Roof, HAD DINNER, then managed a bit of Ironing, after Tea it was Water the Garden time with Wife ie me filling up Watering Can and passing it to her, wish Wife would understand what a I DON,T FEEL LIKE DOING ANYTHING DAY is
