Hi John.
thank you for putting me right. our Battery were about five miles from the 38 parallel Line . and we were told about their Bravery . and what a fight they had put up.

I do agree with you David about the other regiments not being remembered as much, I think that its probably because most of the other soldiers managed to escape but the Glosters were cut off and also their Officers were then promised new help which never came. I would not like to be drawn...

Good Morning Ray, .I live I Gloucester not too far away from their Camp named the Imjin Barracks after the bloody battle at the Imjin river. have a look on Google at "Glorious Glosters" and I think you will find the odds they were up against were greater than you think. Makes sad , but interesting...

500 HUNDRED GLORIOUS GLOUSTERS STOOD BACK TO BACK FIGHTING OFF 2000 CHINESE. AND THEY WERE ALL WIPE OUT.
THAT IS WHY THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES TO WEAR TWO BADGES ON THEIR CAPS ONE FRONT ONE ON THE BACK.

Hi Ray some of us remember I served in the Royal Ulster Rifles they were part of 29 Bde at the Imjin River but it seems only one unit fought there and it was not the Rifles or the Northumberlands that were remembered.
Thank God I did not serve there but a lot of mates in the Rifles with me did, a...
