The medal is currently planned to be awarded to all serving members of the armed and civil services who have complete 5 years service. Given that most retired members have provided service to Her Majesty in the last 60 years in a variety of locations and conflicts it seems illogical that we are being ignored. A PCSO having done 5 years on the beat qualifies whilst a long service member of the armed forces who might have seen service in the Falklands, Bosnia and Iraq will be ignored. Retired and serving members (who had not served 5 years) did not receive either the silver or golden anniversary medals. Surely on this unique occasion an exception could be made.

I served the Military for 22 years of the Her Majesty's Reign. Not 5 or 6 years. It would be nice if powers to be would be fair and give the Diamond Jubilee Medal to those who really deserve it, that's all serving members during the Queens Reign.
I don't have anything tangible to mark my 4 years in the WRAF, I would love to have at least one commemorative medal to give my grandchildren.
We should receive the medal, we served are country
Signed on Dec 1960 and left the forces in 1983. no chance if the Jubilee Medal. keep smiling
WE SHOULD GET IT WITHOUT THE B ,WHEN YOU SEE CADETS AND POLICE ECT GET
Totally agree. Was refused a silver jubilee medal as only certain amount given to each station!!!! Just happens a WRAF in for less than a month for one!!??
Those who completed 5 years Military service should receive a Queens Jubilee Medal. Veterans deserve the Medal due to their loyal service
All Medals should be issued to past and present service personnel, who qualify, regardless of whether the government likes it or not.
I agree they should at least give the Diamond Jubilee to those who served at some time during those 60 years.
