Hi folks, time for an update with regards to the Camp Lejeune compensation claims in the UK. You probably know that I have been looking into who is able to take on such a claim for individuals, or en masse. The choice is obviously yours to make, but a key factor for me was the fact that they also have a Partner in Houston, Texas, who facilitates with another Partner in California (cases have to be finally presented by a Lawyer practising in the USA.)??Both of these heavy duty professional lawyers have vast experience in medical claims, as does Paul McClorry, the solicitor I am dealing with at Hudgells. He has dealt with them on many occasions. These claims are initially being considered to be settled with a US Government department, which is set aside to initially evaluate the evidence and offer settlement awards. Finally, the all-important question - “What’s it going to cost me?” ?The claims are being handled on a contingency basis, which means 20% of the damages awarded is payable. Should an agreement not be reached under the US Government scheme and Court proceedings have to be commenced in America, then the fee would be 25%. If no compensation award is secured, then no payment (zero) is required. Therefore, only legitimate claims with service record and medical evidence will be considered. You could of course try and claim as a private individual direct to the US state department, and have loads of spare £$£$£$£$ (I wish you luck with that).
