In 1974 / 5, Britian trained 3 units for Vietnam
The Operation was OP PACIFIC. This was to train 3 British units in Jungle Warfare / Survival. This was done to support 10 Australian units and all 13 were to go to Vietnam to support the US troops. So few people are aware of this commitment.
If you were one of the few, you would have been in Singapour, Neesoon Bks before crossing the causeway to Malaysia. The unit that I was in was made from Royal Engineers, Scots Gards, RTR, RA, ACC, REME. AAC, etc...

Thanks for bringing back memories, I was in 'RE Air Troop part of the Jungle Warfare School in Malaya until we closed down in 1971. It was interesting to find out that the Air Troop rebadged to become 656 Squadron AAC part of the ANZUK force, and is still going strong today. I take it that none...
