My Dad ( Barry Spawton) was on board HMS Torquay, which I believe was present at the Suez Crisis

I served in the suez campaign aboard HMS Forth as an able seaman, She was the admin ship alongside with,a couple of LCTS, One of wich was the Hms Anzio . As a member of Forths Tas party we were kept busy clearing old munitions out of navy house after the marines had finished sorting out the...

I was involved in the Suez Crisis and based in Malta with Bomber command. No recognition has been awarded because it was a political embaressment . Despite this the services performed well and were let down by the politicians. So whats new ?

I served with 128 Wireless Troop We went in day 1. When I see the service lads now, Our little venture was like the 100 years war. I have a pic on my wall my gear looks like World War 11
