Good to know the Horse Marines are still getting together. Too frail these days to join in! I served in Paderborn, Hong Kong ,Aden and Bahrein. Lulworth gunnery course 1959. Shunted in to being 'C' Sqn Clerk in HK, Aden and Bahrein because I could type really fast !!! Said farewell in 1963.

Would love to come to this but 240 miles may be a bit far now that I'm moving into old age. However, I do remember my two years with the regiment in Fallingbostel fondly, especially when I use one of the placemats that I've kept for all these years.

I seem to remember being upside down was quite common for me, especially dangling from side of the engine compartment fixing that bloody firewire, lol.

Well mate, it's not really the distance but the driving. If we could "car share" from somewhere, that would be great. Other alternative is train I suppose. I've even got some old B/W photos to share, one of an ARC Bridgelayer just after it had plowed through a forest and ripped every single light off the wretched thing. Took me feckin' hours to fix them all, lol.
