Status: Offline | | called to see an old friend now in a home in heckmondwike, think i mentioned before that i,d been told while arranging my old firms reunion that she was suffering from anzimas, hence stating that i would visit, lovely care home , i was directed to the second floor and iris was pointed out sitting in her special chair in the lounge area, gone were her large glasses that she always had dangling on chains, i still recognised her although she was very frail, i chatted about old days and our friends, the lady i knew had left, just a very tired looking shell remained, i was glad i visited her, she,d been the managing directors sec and had a heart of gold, bubbly , cheerfull and a good word for everyone, ensured i got my expenses when i was sent out to visit nissan and any other firm and booked me into a brilliant venue, when people asked me for references ie if joining forces or seeking new employment, iris would type them out on special headed plessey paper and add managing directors name hence all getting the positions they applied for, a couple of people in the care home were surprised when i told them of her long history and top job at birkbys,shame they could,nt have known the woman i and many others knew. | | Report Post |
